Had to read this post since the title is what my neighbor does. Seriously the whole place shakes as he goes around stomping and yelling. I think he is 50-60 years old.

So sorry to hear you are having a difficult time. Hope things get better for you. I guess your youngest could have gotten in even more trouble then cutting the curtains. Sending hugs your way.

Missy are there any General Rental type places in your area that you can rent a weed wacker for the day? It shouldn't be too costly especailly if it makes quicker work of what you have to do.

When my DIL and GK lived with us, DIL laid down to take a nap with the 2 yo, only to wake up and find 2 dozen eggs broken all over the LR. Talk about making memories! My DIL, bless her heart, was crying when we got home. We couldn't help but grin, and thank the stars that our kids are grown. Wish I lived near you so I could bring over my weed whacker and help.

I have been hand weeding for the last four days and it doesn't look like i have done a darned thing. I got outour lawn mower. and realised why dh had it put away. It's missing the rip-cord to start it with. So I borrowed one of FIL's...while he was at work...he doesn't KNOW i borrowed it. And that stupid thing won't feed line. the metal guide tube for the line is rusted. So i gotta put that back together and sneak it back into his yard tomorrow.

In the mean time i have a call into a landscaping lady at church. we'll see if she calls back. Maybe i can borrow hers.

My hands are tore up. and sore. Hand weeding sucks.

Sorry to hear about your adventure. I agree with Lady_V. Make something else out of the curtains, something that you'll keep and use. It'll make a sweet memory when your little one is grown and out of the house. (And until then, it makes for great emotional blackmail and embarass-the-date material.)

As for the weeds, I could recommend a number of ways to KILL them (along with your entire lawn), but I used to hand-weed myself. (Before I moved somewhere with: a) no CC&R's and b) no lawn. )
