What to wear for family picture?

I am so bad at coordinating clothing. We are scheduled to have our family Christmas picture done next week and I'm not sure what to wear. I already know we will all be wearing jeans but what color sweaters? I have a navy blue sweater for my DS12 to wear and my DH has either a navy blue sweater or a deep green sweater. I was thinking of wearing a cream or burgandy sweater. I need to get my DD10 something too. Not sure what color. Does having the boys in one color and the girls in another color seem stupid? Should we all wear different colors? I know we will all be wearing solids no prints so I don't have to worry about clashing. What do you guys think? I seriously need some guidance here!!

Where whatever you are all comfortable with. I've seen family pics where everyone is in matching turtlenecks and jeans... as well as everyone in a complimentary colored sweater. I liked both sets.

I know it's not much help, but in the end, you all need to be comfortable and be happy in what you are all wearing or it will show through in the pics.

We have a family of 5, our two best family photos were all of us each wearing jeans in both, and all wearing our Buccaneer jerseys in one and different colored shirts in the other. I think mixing it up is a good thing, perhaps you might consider wearing a brightly colored shirt or scarf with your cream colored sweater, sometimes light colors can wash you out depending on your skin tone.

I'd have everybody wear something dark. It really does make the faces pop and no colors clash. I wouldn't do cream or white on anybody for the photo... it is really hard to get a good looking pictures with those.

When I do pics with my kids, I usually put my boys in some shade of blue and my girls are in some shade of red/pink. I wear blue to match the boys. I would think that no more than 2 different solid colors would work best.

We're getting ready to have our pics done again so I should probably get started on picking clothes!
