have you had your flu shot?
i got mine today

i work in a hospital so we got them free from employee health. i believe that taking the flu shot is a good thing.
i feel fortunate that i get mine free -- i saw ads for cvs/riteaid stating prices $35-$40.

My kids got theirs two weeks ago. The adult doses don't come in to my doctor until November, so I have an appointment on 11.15 to get mine. Dh doesn't like to get them. I'd be crazy not to get one, working in a school. My sons had to get them by December 31, or they wouldn't be allowed to return to daycare on January 1. I don't believe there were any rules about it for dd and school, but I just think it is good common sense.

Not yet, but I'm going to get the flu shot for myself and my daughters. It doesn't cost anything in Ontario because it's covered under OHIP. Yah!

Yes I'll be getting mine also and it won't cost as I am also from Ontario. My Dh doesn't get them at least not yet I try every year to get him on board.I've been getting them for years as it was mandatory in the hospital I worked in.About 10 years ago Dh was really ill with the flu and I didn't get sick, so that convinced me to keep getting the shots.

I think it depends on the person. Both hubby and my dad have had bad experiences with flu shots. I take a wait and see approach - I'm pretty glad I didn't get one last year though since it didn't cover the actual strains that went around.

The kids and I got ours last week at the "Say Boo to the Flu" event at a local park. Ds and I were covered w/ insurance, but Little Miss cost us $35 for the thermisol-free. Why insurance doesn't cover the thermisol-free, IDK. It's asinine if you ask me. The kids also got trick or treat bags and a t-shirt (compressed down to look like a little pumpkin). Dh is getting his tomorrow.

Here it is covered if you are old or have breathing problems, other medical problems or are under age 2. DS gets one cause he is 14 months, DD gets one cause she has asthma bad, and has been really sick in the past with pneumonia, I get one because I am DD's primary care giver. DS (4) and DH have never had them, they would have to pay, I think we are going to look into it this year. DH probably still wont get one, hes a big (6 foot 4) sissy afraid of needles LOL.

I'm home sick with a cold today, so I was actually thinking about this. My employer offers them free, but the clinic isn't for another 2 weeks.

My mom gave us all ours two Saturdays ago. If she didn't give them to us our insurance covers them anyway. I have a couple of chronic illnesses and DS has a history of reactive airway disease so everyone living with us has to get one.

We've never gotten one, and I don't plan on getting one.
We've all been extremely fortunate about never getting real sickly. We get the every now and again colds...but it's been a long time since either of us has gotten the flu."We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen; For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
