I think we tend to take things for granted when we are told everything is OK. Then, when we are bombarded with bad news we always react as if this will be the end. I am old enough to remember hard economic times, yet I still sometimes get caught up in the 24 hour news cycle of if it bleeds it leads. We live in a world of extremes in which one day it is OK to spend, spend, spend. The next day we are all eating beans and rice and making soap. People should look at their our situation and make decisions based on that, not what we are told by the media. I have been eating beans and rice all ready so I really do not have a lot to change. I will strive to be more frugal each day since I believe wasting money is a sin.
