I found the Frugal Village Forums while Googling for forums related to green living. My husband and I have 2 little ones and one on the way and were convicted some time back about eliminating our debt, made some changes but a year later found ourselves still unable to make extra payments because of our careless spending. That resulted in some brainstorming and serious commitment to change. It was in the process of those changes that I realized frugal living was also greener living and began recognizing the added benefits that resulted from our changes, not just for us but for the environment, and that gave me a new place to look for more ideas to change our ways and save money at the same time. Our desire isn't simply to get out of debt - that's just our goal until it's accomplished. Ultimately we just realized there wasn't any godliness in mindless consumerism and that there are more important things than personal convenience. That said, I know I've personally found myself far more satisfied since making the change to a more frugal lifestyle and I've gained more than I've given up.

I'm hoping to meet others of similar mind and learn more while I'm here.
