You wanna trade me chore list's Buster???!!!
So, I have not been able to pound it through my 13 year old sons thick skull for 3 weeks to get his freakin pigsty (also known as his room) cleaned!!
So, last night while I was cookin dinner, he came out to see what I was making and I said, "I'm gonna make you a deal of a lifetime"!
Of course he was scared to ask, but he did ask!! I said, " If that room aint cleaned by friday night, We are trading chore lists for the weekend!!!"
He freaked out, silently!
I said, " What's wrong, you dont see this as a fair trade??"
He said, " No Mom, I dont, your chore list is huge and all I have to do is my room, you could have the room done in a few hours and I would be working ALL WEEKEND"
OMG ROFLMAO....There IS intelligent life in there after all!!!!
I said, " Thats the deal, you dont get the room done by friday night, we're tradin chore lists for the weekend, and my chores better be done to my expectations!!!"
My diabolical plan seems to be working muhahahahaaaaaaProud wife to Randy

That is totally evil and awesome! I LOVE it!!!
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I had a similar thing going on with my then-10 yr old oldest son. He always looked gut-shot when I asked him to do ANYTHING, and always complained that his chore list was 'too much'. (he had a couple of small things every day, and it was summer so he had the whole rest of the day.
One day, he's complaining about chores, so------ I give him mine! I said, OK, let's see what my chore list is like--the person you're complaining to! You can do mine! So, he had to clean the couple of rooms I planned to clean that day, straighten the rest, do dishes (load the dishwasher) and a couple of loads of wash (and fold and put away), he had to 'watch' his brother and friends in the swimming pool, so they wouldn't kill each other, and then he had to cook dinner.
He was looking sooooo whipped by then, that I just gave him hot dogs on the grill to do and salad and stuff....
(he was only 10...)
I never even discussed how his day went. He never said a word to me again, on the subject.
He is 24 now, and was telling me (IM) the other day that he had to get going and mop the kitchen floor of his apt. LOL!______

I have my kids on this points system, and have for years you can read about it here http://www.frugalvillage.com/forums/blogs/nvmommyx6/172-children-discipline.html
It works wonders for the whole family, but I have slacked on it as they have been doing so well being structured on their own....I cant wait to have my weekend free to do whatever I want!! I'm thinkin I might sit on the couch, watch TV and spill popcorn and crumbs everywhere for him to clean up
ROFLMAO

I love katybug's idea! If he doesn't keep his end and ends up doing your chores...be sure to keep a photo diary of it for us!
Sometimes, creative parenting is the best way to go! That is too funny!

I just checked out the picture of his room, seriously my parents would have had my hide if my room got that bad! I'm not saying I was tidy (at all) I just never let it get that bad.
I'm excited to see how it goes, one weekend of your chores might set him straight. Heck, I wanna have a 10 year-old's chore list!
When I was younger I had to keep my room tidy (HA!), keep my stuff in it's proper place, pack my lunch, do my homework, put my dishes in the dishwasher, and set the table. I had extra chores on the days off or on the weekend, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping the kitchen floor. I also had stuff I could do for extra money like washing the cars, picking up pine cones in the yard for fire starters and other little things.
That being said, my mom had to harp on me a lot to get my stuff done. In fact she is laughing at me now for FINALLY getting the *pick up after myself all the time*=Less Cleaning. Shesh, it only took 26 years.
