Does any take fish oil
I don't know to much about fish oil and a friend told me to start to take it to help with my panic attacks. If I am going to try this how much should I take and does this really help? What are some of the benefites from this?

I take 2400 mg of Fish Oil per day. Its great for your heart, but I take it with St. John's Wort and I have noticed a significant difference in the effectivness of the St. John's Wort after I added Fish Oil to my daily vitamins.
I can't say yes or no that it will help with your anxiety, but I can tell you it helped with my Seasonal Affective Disorder.~Jessica

I take fish oil, but have never heard of it for panic attacks. We take it to help lower our cholesterol. I take it 3 times a day - 1200 mg each time. The biggest thing I learned was to make sure I ate something or I'd be burping fish. Icky!!

I take Cod Liver Oil - it is recommended for overall well being. I am pregnant and it seems to be helping with my gestational diabetes and it is supposed to help the brain function of my unborn child. It is not going to hurt to take it - just get a higher grade, then you can avoid the fish burps.

I take flaxseed oil. I've taken either flax seed or fish oil since I became pregnant. I have heard a lot of good things about the omega 3 fats.
Things I've heard that it helps include ADHD in kids, sleep problems, depression, etc. The study involving adhd was very convincing! I usually have my kids on it, but we've run out recently:

I've been known to have anxiety and depression issues in the past and I have to admit I've been considerably less symptomatic lately. With my last pregnancy I had horrible ppd so I had a referral for psych even before we left the hospital. This time around though I haven't had any ppd at all. I don't know, maybe it's helped?
I take a little less than what's recommended on the bottle, actually. I'm afraid to overdue anything while nursing.~Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.~

Gripey and I both take 1200 mgs of fish oil and 1000 mgs of flaxseed oil at night. (helps ya not to have to endure the fishy burps although you can get enoteric caplets that don't cause it anyway) I suggest you check out Puritan's Pride as they have a b1 get 2 free sale frequently. It works out much better than Walgreens b1 g1 sales. The omega 3's are great for you and if you take em at night they also help with sleep disorders.

I started taking fish oil caps 4 or 5 months ago and I swear they have made a big difference for me. I feel more mentally calm and balanced now. I did a little googling about fish oil and found out that the omega 3's actually make brain cells grow in the parts of the brain connected to mood and some studies have shown that it helps with depression. Something about not as much grey matter in the mood centers of the brain in depressed people. I am not depressed but it runs in my family. I know I will never stop taking it now. I take one 1000mg capsule a day. Its also good for your cardiovascular system.

I started taking cod liver oil after a bout of adult whooping cough. Post-illness I was stuck on an inhaler and could not wean myself off of it because the racking cough came back. First morning after taking 2 teaspoonfuls of cod liver oil I was able to skip my inhaler....no cough!!! I took it for a good 6-8 months after that.
Anecdotally, it did seem to alleviate the winter blues.

I take Coromega--it's like an orange flavored pudding-- for RA and Crohn's and it helps immensely. It also seems to have helped reduce my anxiety issues; dh has even noted a change in my worry-wart tendenacies. My kiddos take it too since omega is wonderful for brain development. HTH.

I've taken it for years to keep my cholest. balanced, and am about to start my 15 yr. old DD on it. She was recently diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and it's supposed to calm inflammation. I have found it's best taken at night or I'll burp fishy burps all day.

I take 3600 mg of fish oil a day and Hubby takes 2400 mg. We go to separate doctors and each doctor recommended this. It is to treat cholesterol for both of us and also joint problems for me.
I don't think there is much fishy odor, sniff, sniff, sniff. Of course..... my sinuses are clogged so what do I know......Spiritual:

Omega 3 has been shown to help with over all well being, but it will not stop panic attacks.
That is something so different and needs to be treated differently.
