Has anyone ever try the foot dextoxing? I heard that it works really good. I just don't understand on how the water would change throughout the process. I can get it done for 25.00 but I just think it would not work. SO that is why I am looking for more information on this process. Can anyone help on this question??

Most foot bath detox methods use an ionic foot bath that "charges" the water that then those poistive and negative ions circulate through the body. The oppositely charged toxins attach to them and by osmosis the toxins are pulled out through the pores of the feet. Feet have nerve endings that lead to everyplace in the body and often relexology is performed as well.
The skin is very porus, basically the largest organ in the body and is also much like a second liver used for ridding the body of impurities. Dry skin brushing is a great way to get the lymphatic system working in high mode. Always brush dry, never with wet or damp skin. It's best done before getting in the shower or bath. Always brush towards the heart, start with the bottom of your feet and work up the legs and trunk of the body then from the hands into the shoulders.
If you take a bath, try adding epson salts as a method of detoxing. The hot water will pull toxins to the surface of the skin and as the water cools the toxins are drawn from the bosy by the cooling water. The epson salts assit is drawing the toxins out and relax your muscles. Do not stay in an epson salt bath more than 30 minutes as you can become overly tired and too relaxed, do this only at the end of day.
There are many different ways to detox but if you continue to shower in unfiltered water (heavy metals from personal well water, salt for softening well water or cholrine and flouride from city water), apply most commerical over the counter lotions, shampoos, conditioner, deodrant, dye your hair, wear lots of make up, paint your nails, eat non organic and/ or processed foods you are only loading all of these impurities back into your body. (Remember the skin absorbs everything including airborn pollution, which includes not only ourdoor pollution but also chemicals from using air freshers, candle/ insense smoke, "traditional" household cleaning products, etc).
There is also always another study or research done that will refute either side.
If you have the $25 and don't mind taking a chance, go for it. Just know that as your body detoxifies you may experience some mood swings and may feel worse as the various toxins exit your body.
Geez, after typing all that out I'm depressed... hope some of this information is of some help to you.Last edited by Denvergirlie; 10-23-2008 at 09:42 PM.

I;ve never had it done, but I have seen it done......when the water started, it was clean and clear, but as the time went on, the water that the persons feet were in go dirtier and somehow metalic looking.....it was like there was metalic-y pieces that came to float on the top of the water bath.

I've noticed that people usually don't acknowledge a post debunking certain things/ideas. I hope anyone who is considering doing this, or getting the foot patches, will read these links or do their own research before they waste their money. I think it's bizarre that people ignore the "it's fake" posts.

Thank you for the informative post Denvergirlie. I like that the "home" treatment seems more natural and relaxing. Homemaker66, you might want to schedule yourself a relaxing bath since it is a natural way to help treat the problem.
I know I'll be scheduling one for myself when DH is otherwise occupied.

I too am of the mindset that it's a bunch of hooey. If you want, try soaking your foot in some warm water with some epson salt, rinse then lather your feet with your favorite lotion. Put your feet up & read a good book. ahhh
Those ads for colon cleansing crack me up too. Need to get out all the stuff that have been lingering on your colon walls. You will lose weight & that bloated feeling. Guess I'm not the only one full of
