I'm New
Hi! I'm new to frugal village.
Well, a little about myself. I am married. I have 5 kids and 1 grandson. I live in Missouri. I like to go canoeing, read books, and play computer games. With this economy going down so fast, we are needing to be more frugal. So today I went looking for ways to help us survive. My husband is on total disability (at age 41). He has two forms of arthritis and other things. I'm am not working just now. Had my gall bladder taken out the other day. All my kids are home, including my grandson. Their ages are 20, 19, 19,(twins) 17, 13, and my grandson just turned 1 in sep. I have 6 dogs (3 outside, 3 inside) a cat, a bird and a big fish tank full of fish. We live on 3 acres out here in the sticks. Very close to a river, where my husband loves to fish.
I could sure use some help figuring out how all this works. I don't understand the challenges, the money, I'm lost. I did get my avatar figured out (kinda). I would appreciate some help. This site looks like an exciting place, and very friendly...Last edited by khanilea; 10-24-2008 at 08:02 AM.

Hi, Welcome! It must be nice to be new! I've been around almost 41 years on this planet, so I'm not exactly new.
(By the way, I'm one of those that likes to put a little humor in things occasionally... I tend to see things differently from other people.

Hi there
Welcome to the village. The best advice I have is to just spend a lot of time reading. Go to the first page of the forums, pick a category, click and start reading. You'll learn so much and before long you'll be an old hand at cruising around the village. There's lots of info, valuable info on these pages. Glad to have you here with us.

Most people put the challenges in their signature as a way to keep track of how they are doing and the numbers are easily updated by going to user cp then signature, making the changes then clicking save.
