Do You Take A Bath?
My ex and his parents are remodeling our old house, and the bathrooms are the major targets.
When we first moved in there, there was a full bath upstairs and a small shower downstairs in the 'not quite legal' in-law apartment (only 1 egress).
Now there is a large shower in both. No bathtubs. There are no immediate plans to sell the house, but I wonder how having no bathtubs will effect the sale.Last edited by Lady_V; 10-25-2008 at 12:08 AM. Reason: typos happen

I voted that I have no tub, which isn't essentially true. Our tub is usable, but not a tub where you'd like to luxuriate and soak. When we bathe the boys, it's in, scrub, out.
One day, I will have a big tub and I will spend hours soaking in it.

Yep, love my tub. It could be bigger, but it fits me perfectly. I take my bath everyday in the tub. Sometimes I take a shower, but prefer the tub. I sit in a tub FULL of hot, hot water when I am hurting, having bouts with my neuropathy or just want to relax.
Personally, I would have to have at least one tub. But that's just me.DD (19)

I have two bathrooms but only one tub. The only time it's used is when the Grands are here. For resell value it's a good thing to have tho.

I love to soak in the tub!! My dream is to have one of those huge jacuzzi(sp) tubs!

Of course I do have a small business making soap and bath products, so I want everyone to take baths! LOL

I much prefer baths over showers. It's my me time, I take a book and read sometimes for hours kids know unless theres blood leave me alone. I know it's not frugal to be refilling the tub with hot water but I love it. I could live in a house with no shower, but not one with no tub but my husband is just the opposite

I love my tub. I don't actually clean myself in the tub - I take showers for that, sometimes just a one or two minute quickie AFTER the bath. But it's soothing, relaxing, and fun. Plus, I have aches and pains the it helps. I wish it were just a bit longer, though.
I don't have a jacuzzi but I DO have one of those over the side jacuzzi things. I've also got a detachable shower head that pulses... very nice to help with my sore shoulders/back.

We have two bathrooms in our house and both have bath tubs. I love to soak in mine and it is so relaxing. My opinion would be to put one in just in case you do decide to sell later on. A family with younger children the tub would be a plus.

I take a bath daily, sometimes more than once a day. The hot water helps with my pains.
From a realtor's point of view, I would put a tub in one of those bathrooms. The resell vlaue will rise if you do.

We have an older house and we have a shower only in the master bathroom and a tub only in the hallway bathroom.
We are planning on remodeling the hallway bathroom this upcoming year and putting in a shower/tub combo and later on down the road also remodeling our bathroom to include a shower/but combo.
But, yeah, I like baths, and usually take one every other day. The inbetween days I shower.Michelle in middle Tennessee!
Ever so slowly rebuilding my stockpile...

Personally, I wouldn't purchase a home without a bathtub. I love soaking in the tub. I hate having to stand up and jimmy around in the shower trying to shave my legs. Also, DS will not take a shower. He is horrendously afraid of the shower. It'd be a no go for us.

Unless I'm sick and ache from head to toe, I never take a bath. I love knowing all the dirt and grime are going down the drain and I'm not marinating in it. I can't remember the last time I took a bath. We have a huge, deep garden tub, it's nice for washing or soaking rugs and things in if the washer breaks down.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who finds baths (the past few years esp.) soothing to my joints and achy muscles. We don't have one at the cabin,so guess what I did when I first got home to Ohio? Took a long soaking bubble bath! Yep.

That said-----I do think there are lots of folks who would never use a tub, and appreciate a house without one.______

Kids can only fit in the sink for a short while, need that tub, lol. Need room for the ducky flotilla dontcha know?
I haven't taken a bath in years and would love a shower with those awesome jets. I'm a quick one in the shower, no wasting of water from me.~*Darlene*~
