Using Craigslist

I've used craigslist a few times before and never had a problem posting but the other day I went to post a few items and it wouldn't let me unless I gave my phone number for verification so they could call me. Has anyone else ran into this?

I've never had that problem, but.....I had a lady accuse me of being a *scammer from some foreign country* because I wouldn't give her my phone number!

A few weeks ago, after being a regular poster, I had to do the phone verification thing.
Not sure why.
That was the only time it asked me for it.
I did it, and have not had any issues with posting.

It's been about a month since I posted on Craigslist and I know I didn't have to enter my phone number then. So, I wonder who actually is verifying this information?

Well, after I posted this, I tried again and this time it didn't ask for the phone number. It let me post. Good news.... I just sold the last of my chickens! Its a good thing since one of them is my 'baby'.... didn't like the idea of DH butchering her. Didn't want to think of baby sitting on my plate. I don't make a very good farm girl, huh?
