***Just for fun...What do you do for a living?***
Are you a domestic engineer? Do you work out of the home? I thought it would be fun to learn a little more about each other.
I guess I'll start. I'm a property and casualty insurance agent/underwriter (now a clerk) (kind of like satan and an angel in the same body...both fighting each other). While the "agent" wants to write the home, the underwriter says NO! (good practice for dealing w/ my 7 yo son. We specifically insure everything other companies DON'T want (and if you could SEE some of these homes, you would know why they don't want them), BUT at a price...as an agent, the highest premium I quoted was $36k (not the houses worth, but the insurance premium)...I think I heard a dial tone when I told them the premium I love classical music (Vivaldi is my favorite) reading biographies (the last one I read was John Adams...not light reading, but VERY interesting),Christmas & spending time w/ my 7yo son Tony. Take care and God bless.Rhonda

HA! Domestic Engineer, I love that one...haven't heard it before! But that is what I am now! And I love it.
Prior to being a domestic engineer, I was a Civilian Government Contracts Officer. I worked for a civilian military contractor that provided military police dogs and civilain handlers in Iraq and Afghanistan (as well as non-govt contracts for bomb dogs at Las Vegas casino's, Chicago Bears games, etc). It was an awesome job. Just got burnt out working 12 hours a day and not seeing my kids as much as I liked. The paycheck just wasn't worth missing out on their lives. I'll have plenty of time to work once they are older and on their own!

By trade I am a hairstylist and at one time owned a salon. Now...I work as a sales rep/merchandiser and I love it. Most of the lines we carry are fashion or cosmetic related(Neostrata skin care,Secret and Jockey hosiery and handbags and costume jewellery!) The perks can be good too since I get some freebies! The only thing I dont like is the travelling in the winter and the price of fuel!!

I'm a retired teacher, but still teach a couple of courses per semester for a local university. I taught journalism (doing the newspaper and yearbook), speech and drama (doing plays, musicals, and coaching debate and speech contestants), literature, and composition. I absolutely loved teaching and have never had a problem finding a job, either full or part time.
But I really like being retired now and just teaching a couple times per week. I can sleep late, piddle around the house, cook, go to the gym during the day, do my volunteer work, have time to work on scrapbooking (('m just a beginner here, so am pretty slow), can actually clean house and not just compromise on it, get together with friends, etc.
I like to read, walk in the woods, and write. I have written professionally in the past, but teaching squeezed me on time to do that. So I am gradually trying to come back with my writing. I like taking time now to do my Bible study and meditation each day. While that has always been important to me, I now take time to be more thorough with it. I also enjoy my family, but we live away from all of them, so it is a pleasure to be with them a few times a year. And finally, we like to travel, but with the economy, we aren't doing much of that.
thanks for asking.........Spiritual:
"You are fearfully and wonderfully made." Please... respect life.

Debt free, hoping to stay that way!

Ok .. well for 16 years I was a domestic Goddess lol .. but then my baby went to Kindergarden and I looked for a job... started out as part time at the local convience store .. and now 3 years later I am sales manager there and working 40 hours a week if not more. Its tiring and the drama BS makes me crazy... but I think that would happen everywhere you would work . dont' know if its worse cause its all women working there or not. And I am a woman so not discriminating.. but the store I work in we had people back stabbing people.. there was one lady(she doesn't work there now) but if she thought i was doing too good a job she would try to get me in trouble. sigh ... But other than that ... I like my job.

I love the Outlander Series!!!
Hubby says I am a Domestic Goddess so yeah let's go with that. Reading is my favorite way to relax. Other than the Outlander Series I like the People of First North American Series. Hubby also got me hooked on fantasy like Terry Goodkind, Terry Brooks, LE Modesitt etc.

I'm a reservation agent/customer service rep for a cruise line, in their cruisetour division. I do a few specialized functions within that umbrella, one of which is booking and doing customer service for their Alaska land properties and rail line. I'm also a part-time freelance writer. (At this point, I'm EXTREMELY part time.)
