    Default My Aldi's finaly opened.

OMG. way better then that stinky old Save-a-lot.
Hubby and I hit Aldi's today for the grand opening. We have been putting off any major shopping in anticipation of this. We even got a 5.00 off coupon in the mail. Would you believe we filled our cart in no time flat and were out the door with weeks worth of food for less then 97.00 .
Tuna for .57 cents a can, do you know that my local grocery doesn't even have tune for less then 1.00! And the cheap walmart tuna is only 4 oz now not the regular 5 oz size. Only 2.37 for a bag of cheese sticks. I have never gotten them for less the 3.50 .
I'm a pretty smart shopper, I do my coupons with sales thing religiously but lots of the things at Aldis were priced at or below what I pay for them. Granted they are generic vrs the national brands I buy but we aren't picky.
I never ever pay more then 1.50 for a box a name brand cereal but that's on a Buy1get1 sale with a coupon. At Aldi's I got large boxes of generic for less then that. No coupon clipping or hunting involved. I think I am in LOVE!
OF course I will never give up playing the Grocery Game. All though I no longer pay for the service I have been at it so long I don't need the official list.
Aldi's still can't beat what I pay for HBA, free is free no matter how you slice that one.

Our Aldi's opened maybe about a year ago . . . now it's really the only place we shop. I used to clip and GG. No more. I just keep my eye out for q's on stuff we can't get at Aldi's like pull-ups or our Sonicare refills, etc. And I thought I was saving a ton going to Shop n Save. Ha. I <3 Aldi's.

Ann where did one open up at? I know Melbourne is a little bit away from you, is it close enough that I should give it a look see?

    Thanks,

Welcome to the wonderful world of Aldis...lol. I still shop at the grocery store occasionally. As a veggie I need a better selection of produce and access to a few specialty items like tofu and soy nuts to make soymilk But I always hit Aldi's first and get whatever I can there.

I do about 45% of my grocery shopping at Aldi. I like them a lot better now that they are remodeled than before. Before it was nasty, dark, dirty, the lines were horrendous. Now it's MUCH better.

...still gotta watch the produce though...

I almost always shop at aldi's. I can't fathom paying Wal*Mart/Hy-Vee (our big "grocery" stores) prices unless I find an awesome coupon in the sunday paper!

Ann I looked up store locations on line. I think I will give the Rockledge one a try.

I would say that a good 75% of our grocery shopping is done at Aldi, and fortunately they are all OVER the place here so we can almost always get to one within 10 minutes or so... certainly saves on the gas prices Now if we could just get Aldi to sell decent meat we would be doing just fine!

You are lucky to have an Aldi's open up near you! The closet one to me is almost 3 hours away. Maybe one day there will be one closer! Enjoy!!

Jas , the Rockledge and Merritt Island ones opened today. And next month they will have one in Titusville. Wonder why they didn't put one in Melbourne? Well Rockledge is doable for you. You might want to wait a day or two, it was crazy busy. Bring a quarter for the shopping cart, you get it back when you return the cart and bring some bags.

I used to love Aldi, when I lived in Iowa. But that I live in Oregon, there is no Aldi. We have a Save-A-Lot and a WinCo Foods, but they do not compare to Aldi. Maybe some day Aldi will make its way out west.
