Here's Where I Find CALM
Do you have a place that brings you pleasure? Maybe a place of joy or happiness, a place of peace and calmness, a place of quiet, a place of serenity, a place of reflection, a place of .......... Can you post a picture and tell us about it? What would you call your picture?
My avatar pic always brings me a sense of calm, but I can't go there very often. However, this picture is of my front porch. It's getting a little chilly to sit out there now, but I certainly love it the rest of the time. To sit there with a great book, or the mail, and watch the sun set, or rise, and listen to the wind in the woods or the birds, or the dogs, and have a cup of really good coffee....... Ah.... a place of calm.Spiritual:

4. Continue to be looking for how God wants to use me this year.

I like to go outside and sit in the fresh air and sunshine and just enjoy the view from our place. It quickly reminds me that no matter how big my problems feel, God is bigger...much bigger.

I love my walk-in closet. It has enough room to lay down and type on my laptop. It has all of my craft things. I love the cosiness of it. I feel so warm and cosy in there.

My house sits on top of a bluff, overlooking a very wild valley, with only a scattering of homes. I can't really post a pic of the best view, which is at night, with only one or two spots of light in the blackness, knowing you are perched up high, with wild animals roaming around the valley below you. During the day, in early morning, when the sun is just coming up, and the birds outside are starting to awaken and sing, is my favourite time.
My other favourite spot for calm is in my finches' room. Don't have a pic of it, but I have a chair in there, and I often sit down after changing out their food and water, and I just watch them interact and eat and go take their baths. Even if I am rushing around, if I take a moment to sit and watch them, it really smooths the rough edges off the day.DH aka Mad Hen

my patio in the backyard. no spectacular views from my house...just neighbors....lol (you girls are making me jealous about that!!
)
but what i do is make my patio as nice as i can in each season. i love my environment to be soothing to me. so for instance, now i have some cornstalks on both sides, pumpkins, some plants that haven't died yet...(amazing they are still alive, actually)...a few subtle fall decorations (not halloweenish). we had some trees (dead/dying) cut down so i saved some stumps and have them in groups of three on each end. the rustic/ natural look and the pumpkins, plants, and decorations are on them. not bad looking if i say so myself.....lol
anyways............that is my escape!
