So mad!!
Here's a little rant.
I've been sick the last couple of days. I worked last night until 11 and had to be back in at 8 this morning. I didn't sleep well, and felt worse today than yesterday, but I dragged into the store this morning anyway thinking if I got moving I might feel better. I didn't. My throat is sore, my ears hurt and are clogged and my whole head is stuffed up. I just feel lousy. I found my immediate supervisor to tell him I needed to leave. He said we had to find the assistant manager. She is the devil.
But anyway, when I found her, I said I'm sorry, I'm really not well and need to leave. Before I could get the whole sentence out, she put her hand up to my face and said 'Bye' and kept walking. grrrrrr Now I don't expect sympathy or anything, but would it be so hard to say 'OK, I hope you feel better' or something?
I've worked there (Walmart) for about a month and have found that with a few exceptions, everyone in the store is rude and very unfriendly. I think my manager's behavior is unacceptable. Employees should be treated at least as well as customers. I'm not sure if I should talk to HR or just let it go. I'm afraid I might be fired for leaving today, but then again, it might be a blessing in disguise.
Has this happened to anybody else? How did you handle it?

This is exactly why I won't shop there.

I think you should talk to HR or HER boss and keep heading up from there if nothing is done. You should be treated with respect and that surely wasn't the case this time around.

what a heartless Witch! Don't worry, what comes, around goes around. She'll get hers all in due time. Just don't wish for it to happen. Just know It Will.
As far as being fired. Any chance you can get in to see a Dr. today and get a Dr. Note?

She's rude, but at least she didn't say "get back to work".
This is probably unpopular advice, but I think you should let it go. Going to HR after working somewhere for a month makes you a troublemaker, and they will get rid of you at the first opportunity. If you hate it there, go looking for something else, but don't leave before you find something and don't make waves while you're there.

I agree that employees should be treated with the same respect as the customers. I think that the reason why so many companies have problems with employees being rude/obnoxious/unwilling is because they are treated like dirt. I know that if my boss/es were horrible creatures I would be more crabby towards the people I work with. As the saying goes poop rolls downhill.

Although I need the job now, I don't plan to stay any longer than I have to- especially now. I had planned to stay until I graduate, but there's no way I can do that now. And not just because of this incident, but because of my experience there as a whole.
On the one hand, I think a lot of the reason employees are treated this way is because the managers know they won't complain because they need their jobs.
On the other hand, I do still need to work and the economy is so bad right now, it's slim pickins.
I'm just thinking if I had done that to a customer, I would at the very least have been reprimanded. My boyfriend has worked at this store for the last 2 years and said my manager has a reputation for being mean and rude. Maybe I'll just see how things play out.

Mostly, I just wanted to say that I am sorry that she was such a witch and also to tell you that I hope you feel better soon. A virus has been going on here for a couple of weeks and it's miserable.
Take care of yourself!

I used to work at Wally World, too. I only worked there long enough to put my husband through college. I just couldn't handle the stress of being a cashier and constantly being picked at and put down by the CSM's who thought they were God, and then pretty much being talked down to like a toddler in front of customers. I'd get out of there as fast as you can. Anything is better than working for that company.
Hey, do they still show that training video on why you SHOULD NOT join a union? I always thought that was a hoot how they try to brainwash you with that video.

Here is what I have found: that people now a days think nothing of being rude. It is disheartening and sad. If you are sick, you are sick. You didn't plan it. I agree with some other posters, pick your battles. I would guess this isn't one of them. I hope you feel better soon. Sending you hugs!!

I'm in a mood right now, so I would definately not let it go. I would find the phone or other item she uses the most and breathe my germs ALL over it..then she will know how it feels. what a B*tch.
