That is good that they are helping to spread the word! We have angel food here and when we could have used it last year, I didn't know it existed! Now that I know about it, I try to spread the word to people who I know are hurting financial through lay-offs, etc. When DH was laid off last year, it would have helped us out alot!

"A local church is letting people buy groceries at half-price." Hmm, that's a very odd way to put it and misleading. It's not as if the church is paying half the price of the food. Are they still trying to say that the angel food costs half what you could buy it for in a regular store? Another stretch.
The truth is that the church is not buying the angel food at all. They are only helping to distribute it to anyone who orders and pays for it up front. Oh, and did I mention the church gets a dollar for every order they take? Of course, it takes volunteers to be there to help distribute it and they don't get paid as far as I know. I think any place could choose to be a distribution center and also collect $1 for each order they take and pay for.
