Smile Vote For Your Fav Election Day Quote!

I found the following on rd.com (Readers Digest), and thought it appropriate for the day before elections. Which is your favorite quote?

    Take it from me--elections matter.
    -- Al Gore

An election is coming. Universal peace is declared, and the foxes have a sincere interest in prolonging the lives of the poultry.
    -- George Eliot

I'm older than dirt, I've got more scars than Frankenstein, but I've learned a few things along the way.
    -- John McCain

Washington, D.C., is to lying what Wisconsin is to cheese.
    -- Dennis Miller

Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedies.
    -- Groucho Marx

Ninety percent of the politicians give the other ten percent a bad name.
    -- Henry Kissinger

Do you ever get the feeling that the only reason we have elections is to find out if the polls were right?
    -- Robert Orben, humorist

Farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil and you're a thousand miles from the cornfield.
    -- Dwight D. Eisenhower

Ideas are great arrows, but there has to be a bow. And politics is the bow of idealism.
    -- Bill Moyers

Everybody knows politics is a contact sport.
    -- Barack Obama

To lodge all power in one party and keep it there is to insure bad government.
    -- Mark Twain

The politician is trained in the art of inexactitude. His words tend to be blunt or rounded because if they have a cutting edge they may later return to wound him.
    -- Edward R. Murrow

This is the one that I have picked...... at least for the moment:

" Farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil and you're a thousand miles from the cornfield.
    -- Dwight D. Eisenhower"

Too many bigwigs promising things that they know little to nothing about!!! My dad farmed, and he always got so upset about federal guidelines for farmers that made no sense to man in the field.

I always think of this quote when I think about our government,
" I may not like what you have to say but I'll lay down my life for your right to say it."

    I like both these quotes.
The one on farming rings so true. It is so much easy to think you know how to do something rather do it. Farmers are not only one that have to deal with thoughtful, but misguided regulations.
The one from Murrow is just so true. A politician has to watch his words, but they will come back to haunt them. This especially true in today's society.

    This one!
~Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.~

~The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.~
