Default So tired of rude people..

Today when I went to pick my kids up from school, I parked on the street as usual as the school parking lot is a joke and you have to walk in to pick up kindergardeners. So I parked leaving enough room between me and the car in front so I could get out when I had to leave. Then a woman in a minivan comes along and tries to park behind me in a space only large enough for a compact car. There was no way she was going to fit. After a few minutes of trying she gets out of her car, comes up and demands that I pull forward so she can get in. If I had I would have been right with the other car's bumper and totally blocked in. I told her I wasn't going to do that and pointed out the other parking places that were available. She got really mad, called me a few choice names and threatened to ram my car. I ignored her, she ended up having the car behind her move so she could get in, which blocked off the traffic on the street. She then walked off calling me names and threating me some more. Now if there had been no parking places I would have moved up, but there were plenty of spaces. Not to mention that she scared my son to death who was also in the car with me. We hurried in to get my daughter and left before she could get back and make good on her threats. Where do people get the idea that they can be so rude?

Some people can just be so nasty and for such a small thing too!
Can you imagine having her for your Mom? Yuck!

I'd have taken a baseball bat to the front of her car and told her, "There, I just saved you the trouble. Now you can grow up and move along your way."

I really hate people like that. I'm sorry she was so rude to you and I'd report her to the school for making threatening remarks to you in a zone with kids around. I'm sure someone had to have seen it too.

Oh I love people like that. When the name calling began I would have started grinning and laughing at her in a condescending way. I know... I'm evil. lol

Actually the first thing I did was reach for my phone, which I had left at home. Darn it!!!! My son wanted to key her car but didn't think that would be a good idea. But if she bothers me tomorrow I will have my phone.

The charge: Public Menacing and/or harassment depending on local laws.

I'd still consider pressing charges since your son had to witness that.

I get your point about the cops Jason, but I personally would not advise that.

I'm a firm believer that if you don't genuinely believe that either you or your property is in danger, then you shouldn't be calling the cops. Just because you can technically call the cops over something like that, I'm sure they have better things to do... you know, drunk drivers, wife beaters, pot smokers and such. It sounds funny but I've seen so many people call the cops over petty nonsense and it just makes me want to egg someone.

I'm sorry she was rude to you. Her anger problems are her problems though, just be thankful you're not related!

I think we're twins because that's EXACTLY how I react when others lose their cool. Makes them even crazier.

However, I can't believe she acted like this in a SCHOOL parking lot!

Forget calling the cops. Buy a gun, invest in some good training and a good retention holster, and open carry. Cops take too long to get there.

I was just thinking about how over I am of rude people today at Chick fil a. Of course I was going to go and get my free sandwich, along with everyone else and their mother. However, when I saw that the line was wrapped around the building, I decided it just wasn't worth it. However, I couldn't just drive past the place because the GENIUS who just had to get his free sandwich before me, turned in front of me and blocked traffic both ways. Seriously, for a free chicken sandwich. It completely wasn't worth it to me ... but obivously, was to him.

In times like these, I totally want to be like the chick in Fried Green Tomatoes "I'm older and have more insurance!" LOL ... except I'm not older, and I can't afford for me premiums to rocket, but it'd be great if it could "Ooops, sorry Mr. I didn't mean to hit your car three times while trying to get around you blocking traffic."

OP ... I'd be upset if this happened to me at my daughter's school, but what are the chances you'll actually see this mother again? Carry your phone with you if you are worried, but I highly doubt she'll try anything.

She threatened to ram her car. She didn't threaten her. She was just being stupid.

Take her number and report it to the school and the police. The schools usually carry license numbers of parents for safety reasons.

Hm, yeah, but he wasn't parked in front of a school and sitting in a Volvo.
