Sorry Crickletlegs this is America you have the right to feel the way you do and to express it but so do others. By the way my daughter went to school but as soon as her first class was over she came right home and her second class World Civ was cancelled and she did a jump for joy. I also noticed that the markets did not do what they thought they were down yesterday whats up with that I thought they were gonna to up.
no magic there huh

The stock market is a 'leading indicator', it doesn't really react to the present, it anticipates the future. The markets rose before the election, (the outcome was for most a foregone conclusion based on the wide margin in the polls) and made significant gains on the day of the election. The election is over now so the markets are focussed on other future events and what impact they will have. Most companies will be releasing quarterly and year end results over the next few weeks, and there isn't a lot of good news expected. The volatility has slowed down, so it's likely that the bottom has been hit, but experts aren't really anticipating major market gains until early next year.

You have the right to your opinion, that's what's great about America. My groan was that I feel that whether I like the decision or not I would stand behind either of them because they are the voice of the people and my president.
I am thrilled that Mccain lost, but had he won he would have had all my support as my president and all the respect (until he did stupid stuff like Bush) due that office.
As Obama said, he may not have earned your vote, but he hears your voice and will be your president as well.
He respects your decision as do I, but it's time to stand behind our president as a nation.

Thank you Dutchie for the congratulations.
My hope is that we will changes that will bring us into 21st century ideas and thinking. I pray that it benefits everyone on the planet." May we never let the things we can’t have or don’t have or shouldn’t have spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have. As we value our happiness, let us not forget it. One of the greatest lessons in life is learning to be happy without the things we cannot or should not have."

I am excited and I slept peacefully that night of the election. It felt like a relief and things won't change overnight, but I am hopeful we will see a change for the better
