I'm excited about it! I watched my neighbor's daughter over night last night, so that they could go to the victory rally in Grant Park! So cool, for them to be able to say they were there!

Yes, congratulations to you all and well done to everyone who was so patient when having to queue for ages to vote!
We stayed up all night to listen to the goings on and I must say I was very impressed with Mr McCain's speech this morning. Good luck and best wishes to the new President.

Thank you, Dutchie!
I read this morning (and this is a paraphrase) that it's hard to understand the importance of an Obama win for the rest of the world. Apparently, only three countries (Georgia, Israel, and the Phillipines) were pulling for McCain! That's incredible!.

Thank you. I am so proud to have been a part of this election and am excited to see Obama lead this country.
Mom2twoboys-I am so jealous of your neighbors LOL No really would have loved to have been there but I was just as pleased to be able to share that moment cuddled up on my couch with my hubby. What a great moment, not just for the U.S. but for the world.

I couldn't have said that any better. I can't express how grateful I am to be able to take part in the voting process or how thankful and elated I am that Obama won. It speaks volumes when the majority of the world speak out and celebrate like they have. It truly is history being made, not just for Americans or for the African-American communities, but also for the entire world and all of those people across it that feel it's time to move forward and make this world as a whole a better place for our future generations.

I'm so full of hope for our country. I think we took a huge step forward as a country yesterday.

Thanks for having a democracy
. Democracies are great, because you can get rid of not-quite-so-good governments much more easily than it is the case with other forms of government (I think it was Karl R. Popper who elaborated on that...)
That being said: I believe that BOTH candidates would have meant an enormous improvement

Thank you. It's great to know that most of the world stands with us. Now I'm hoping we can once again be seen as the great nation we are.
