    Unhappy Update.

Hello all I have not been on in awhile things here have been crazy. DH was unemployed for 7 months. He finally got a job but not any where near the pay he used to make. So we were putting all my medications on our Zellers card because we couldn't afford them so now we have a huge Zellers bill. Last year we had to take out a line of credit to fix a bad mold problem in our house. So we have gotten some serious debt the last year and a half. I am working two jobs and we are talking about DH getting a second job. We are trying to keep our heads above water. At least his new job has some medical so we won't have to put my meds on the credit card. We know have to pay for daycare and before and after school care. At the end of it all I am only up by a few hundred dollars but it is a few hundred more then we had before. We have even talked about seeing if I can get a third job. It should only be for about a year because then or so DH has been told his pay should go up by 4 dollars. which would help a huge amount. We have talked about selling the house but our payments would pretty much equal out to what we would pay for an apartment in our town. My sechdule is crazy and next week I work 7 days straight and not sure the week after that, and Friday I will have worked almost 14hrs that day. My daughter has started to cry when I go to work more so on the weekends and she says she doesn't like that I work so much. Sigh but what else is there to do. I know I am not the only one in this vote. So any advice on how to hold it all together would be very much appreciated.
    Thanks for listening.

Is your husbands job one where he could maybe get some over time hours as opposed to picking up another one? I think you shouldnt be the one to pick up anymore work...you have alot going on by the sounds of it. Talk to your daughter....maybe make a special time to do something with her...even if its something free. Tell her even though you work lots it wont be forever and you will make special *dates* with her. Anything to make her feel like she is getting the time she needs with you. I know its hard...trust me. My husband hasnt worked in over a year and is now in school. We have about 1/3 of the income we had!! I hope things work out for you!!

Im sorry your having such problems, I know all to well about the good ole card to put meds on.
Do you have family around that can help with the babysitting so you can cut down paying that?

Is there a reason why your DH wouldn't take a second job over you taking a 3rd? Are you working 2 part time jobs, and if so, is it possible to find 1 full time job instead? The reason I say is because usually the more jobs you take on at different locations means more time and money spent traveling from workplace to workplace. Better to work at one place for 40 hours then 2 places for 20 hours each usually. So sorry to hear that you are having a rough year and I hope things turn around soon!

Thank you all for your replys and support. I do work two part time jobs. I will think about seeing if I can find maybe one full time job. But those are pretty hard to come by in my town right now. My DH's job is a 8-5 so there really isn't much of a chance to pick up over time. We have family that is around and they are helping out when the can. But my mom is working 2 jobs herself and DH's family help out when they can but they live about 40 mins from us. DH says that he really doesn't want to get a second job where he works weekends I told him to suck it up so we will see what happens. Thanks again everyone.

would it lower your bills to look in to a consolidation loan? Maybe by combining them all in to one loan with smaller payments, lower interest it wouldn't cost so much for you, and you wouldn't have to have so many jobs to be able to pay the bills. I know many people don't believe in this, but we did it about a year ago and saved 600 dollars a month in bills, and have a much smaller interest rate than we was paying to many of them places we owed.

Just an idea, check it out and see if it would make things easier for you.

can you just work extra from your house, such as taking in kids (baby sitting), pet sitting or cooking meals for busy families?

Sorry to hear you're going through a rough time right now.

I think along the same lines as rowdy35. There are possibilities to work at home such as housecleaning, petsitting, as well as customer service /call center type jobs from companies such as LiveOps, Alpine, and West.

Many years ago, I worked 3 part time jobs totaling 45 hours a week, and was going to college at the same time. I also had a household to run. It was not easy.
I also have worked a full time job and a part time one at the same time. I really questioned my sanity at that time

I don't suggest anyone trying to do 3 part time jobs. What if one of the part timers you have now wanted more hours from you. You don't want to upset jobs 1 & 2 by trying to juggle a 3rd.
