Default I'm so shook up about what happened today

I layed my son down for a nap around 2pm. I heard all these sirens and they showed up two houses next to me.

We heard the neighbors baby stopped breathing. She must be around six months old. Our neighborhood ran out to see. I saw the mom and dad screaming for the AMT to move faster because their child was not breathing screaming for help. I heard her screaming and crying in the ambulance. I can't even imagine the emotion that she went through.

They came out later with one of those things(excuse my ignorance for the word that I can't spell) that helps a person breath. Three of them ran out holding the baby and put her in the ambulance. The mom was going crazy and screaming and the dad was breaking down and the grandma got into the police car and so did the dad. The baby looked blue. I have no idea if the child is dead or alive or not. It was just so heart breaking to see that.

Now what is crazy is that the crime scene investigation unite was their for like 6 hours. This house has had a history of violence and in the 6 years I have lived here, I have seen street fights and the teens being arrested. And I know they do simple drugs. Well I could always smell it from my deck in the summer.

I have no idea what really happened to that baby or why she stopped breathing. I just hope she is alive.

I just gave my kids big hugs and so thankful for them. I hate to see stuff like that. It was also nice to see our neighborhood hugging each other and talking.

    Life is precious.

That's awful. I hope the baby is alive and well.

About a year back we had a similar incident here. I live in an apt. complex and one day there were a bunch of police cars here. Many of them were unmarked. They were there quite awhile as my windows overlook the common driveway. News reporters started showing up and everything.
After a few hours I noticed out the window that some plain clothes detectives came out holding brown paper evidence bags (I watch way to many crime scene shows). They put the in the trunk of their car and off they went.
Next day it was in the paper. The little baby had past away and they were investigating the woman. I guess she was a babysitter. Yikes.

Oh, I am so sad to hear about this. I have difficulty reading about stories in the news where children are hurt or killed...I can't imagine being witness to it. I know it must be hard.

Palooka, like you it makes me thankful to be able to hug my children and know they are safe and ok! I think we often forget how precious or children are, and how often we fail to let them know how important they are to us. This really serves as a reminder to hug your kids and let them know how much we love them! Life is so precious, and it can be gone in a blink of an eye!

It sounds like you have a good neighborhood with all the neighbors coming out to offer help and support, again another thing to be thankful for.

Here is a (((((HUG))))) for you, and please keep us posted on the baby.

I hope the baby is okay, that's awful. There's so much to stress over as a parent, and I hope they were able to save that baby.
