Veteran's Day
I received this in an e-mail and thought it would be appropriate to post in anticipation of Veteran's Day tomorrow.
To all who have served, thank you. To all who are the family of those who have served, thank you, as well for the sacrifices you have made.
"It is the VETERAN , not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus
organizer, who has given us freedom
to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the ! VETERAN, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote."Last edited by AmyBoz; 11-10-2008 at 10:45 PM.

This is so very true thanks for posting it.
If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal. Not to
people or things.

Thank you Amy. We are a very proud military family and it always makes us feel so amazing to hear/witness public support of the military.
As many know, my hubby has been in the military for about 10 years. He has served his country in Kosovo and Iraq. I was in the National Guard for 3 years. My brother has been in the military for almost 8 years and has served in Iraq. My brother-in-law is an active duty Airborne Ranger and has been deployed more times than I can count.
My grandfather was wounded in the Korean War, my other grandfather served in Germany. Zac's grandfather served in the Korean War also.
We have lost friends and have had friends wounded while serving. This is a very special day to our family. And I am so glad that others find it as special as we do.McD

I've had lots of family memembers serve as well. Both of my brothers are active airforce and have been for several years. I don't believe that that we tell those that serve us how grateful or proud we are nearly enough. I include myself in that. I guess I will be making phone calls today......
