FINALLY have a table!
I had been complaining (I won't deny it...) about not having a kitchen table... or anyplace to eat other than the coffee table. I vowed to have a proper eating area if it killed him. Luckily he saw things my way...
We all packed in to the car and headed to Ikea yesterday for the sale on the Jokkmokk table & chairs.
I checked the website and the store was suppose to open at 10:00... of course, I made sure we were out of the house by 8:15
We arrived at 9:20 and managed to find a parking spot, walk to the door and prepared to wait in line...
People were walking OUT of the store... with MY table!
The store opened at 9:00!!! I got a voucher for the table since it was limited supply... I was #82. --- 81 people in 20 minutes.
I raced to the register to pre-pay for the table so I wouldn't have to wait in line to pick it up later. Breathing easier, we were going to stroll around the store... if for nothing else, to burn off some of my adrenaline
We went to the food court because our tummies were rumbling (Did I mention, I was in a rush to get everyone out of the house early???
) Scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and coffee... I spent a total of .83 because DD had orange juice. Seems the table wasn't the only reason people were packing in to Ikea yesterday... they offered a free breakfast.
It took some serious self control not to fill my carriage with every thingymabob I saw that I suddenly couldn't live without. About 1 hour later, we paid for our .99 mousepad
and picked up the table.
Jokkmokk table and 4 chairs -- $139.00. Yesterday only -- $59.00!
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

Congratulations on your new table and chairs - they look great.
I know exactly what you mean about buying stuff at Ikea - I have to walk through - get exactly what I need and GET OUT, otherwise it costs a FORTUNE with everything that finds it's way into our cart.*Avril*

Great deal! Congratulations on the purchase of your new table. May your Family share many happy and loving moments sitting around it!
And kudos for surviving Ikea! I have a dogeared Ikea catalogue that rests under the mattress on my side of the bed...When I need a 'fantasy-shopping break', I sneak it out and loving caress the pages that feature items I just know would be perfect for our home...Ah, well...my guy has his sports mags...I have Ikea!

We just bought a new farm house table a few months ago. I love it.It has 4 chairs plus a bench. Great to pile around it to eat...
