Thread: Who else thinks Obama is...

I 100% agree. For me it is all about how a man carries himself, self confidence is so important. That's why I think Obama is so attractive. Personality really is so important that it can make an otherwise unattractive man attractive, and an otherwise attractive me totally uninteresting.
From Wikipedia, Michelle Obama page: "She and her brother, Craig (who is 21 months older), skipped the second grade. Michelle attended Whitney Young High School, where she was on the honor roll four years, took advanced placement classes, was a member of the National Honor Society and served as student council treasurer." and "She graduated from high school in 1981, and went on to major in sociology and minor in African American studies at Princeton University, where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in 1985."
As a comparison to the almost first lady. Cindy McCain's Wikipedia page: "Cindy Hensley was named Junior Rodeo Queen of Arizona in 1968. She went to Central High School in Phoenix, where she was named Best Dressed as a senior and graduated in 1972." and "Hensley received a Bachelor of Arts in education from the University of Southern California, where she was a cheerleader"
Not to say that there is anything wrong with being a cheerleader...I was a cheerleader. Just thought you'd be interested to see a background into their lives
Sorry for the slight thread hijack.

All I could find was that Michelle Obama's IQ is higher than John McCain's (124) but lower than Joe Biden's (146).
(One blog put it at 140, and considering it was an extremely racist and painful to read blog, I was surprised, as the other comments were about how stupid and inarticulate she is!!)
I vote for super smart, since 100 is average, and I think over 120 gets you into Mensa. That, and the degrees from Princeton AND Harvard. She certainly ain't no dummy!
And Barack Obama, at 134(?) isn't exactly dull around the edges, either.
(Just getting it back to Obama - attractive AND smart).

Why in the world has this thread turned into a 'let's bash Michelle Obama' party?? Plain old nasty? Unreal. You DO know that Cindy McCain donates a GREAT percentage of her income every month to other countries for education and medical help? What does Michele do with hers?
As someone else said, "pretty is as pretty does"... the fact that she shops at J Crew and the Gap don't make me like her...and there are lots of "smart" women who are just plain old nasty, and she sure strikes me as that type. Considering what we have seen of her attitude towards this country, and many otherthings. Sorry, I am just not that materialistic.
Cindy McCain contributes much more to society.
Given the difference in Cindy McCain's net worth and Michelle Obama's, I think the comparison of their financial contributions to society is frankly absurd.

Oh man..thank you for this. I too loved this moment and the look they had in each other eyes. Beautiful. I think Obama treated his wife wonderful on the campaign trail and it showed. He never seemed to walk in front of her of leave her walking behind him. but he walked with her.

For what it's worth (no pun intended):
Cindy McCain's net worth: $36.4 million
Obama's net worth: $799,900
edited to add: The $36.4 million is within Cindy's control, John's net worth is $1.8M, and Cindy and the McCain children are the sole beneficiaries to the Anheuser Busch fortune which is estimated to be upwards of $100M. My mind cannot even comprehend that kind of money. I'd hope she's philanthropic!
But heck, weren't people criticizing the Obamas for their community service?Last edited by Shoshana; 11-15-2008 at 01:21 AM.

It's too bad that alot of that net worth that McCain has came from her dad.
Here's something that makes me really like Obama more than I did before:
http://ca.eonline.com/uberblog/b6899...r_in_geek.html
* He reads, no, collects, London's Telegraph reported, Spider-Man and Conan the Barbarbian.
* He may or may not collect Harry Potter books, but according to the Telegraph, he's read them. All of them.
* Per an account in Newsweek, at a campaign rally in May in Iowa, he walked up to wife Michelle's belt buckle, tapped it and said, "The lithium crystals! Beam me up, Scotty!" (It's unclear if Obama, or Newsweek, confused lithium for the essential Star Trek component, dilithium.)
* According to the New York Post, he once greeted Leonard Nimoy with the Vulcan "live long and prosper" salute.
* At a black-tie roast in October, he revealed his secret identity (and his more than passing familarlity with the Superman legend), announcing, "I was actually born on Krypton, and sent here by my father Jor-El to save the planet Earth."
* In Ohio on the weekend before Election Day, he accused John McCain of being "Kato to George Bush's Green Lantern." (One minus point for mixing up Green Lantern with Kato's real boss, the Green Hornet. One bonus point pulling the somewhat-obscure Lantern out of his apparently hero-stuffed memory banks.)
* In 2006, he posed, arms akimbo, in front of the Superman statue in Metropolis, Illinois.
* In the biggest geek move of all, he posted the Superman picture on his Senate website.
He just scored major points with me!Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

I know, it's SO off topic. But: The Mensa membership criterion varies from test to test. Generally, it's around 130. If these IQs are correct, none of them is stupid.
What concerns me more is the question where the public gets such data from? I would want to know about the education of a politician, and about his/her political record, but I think that his or her medical record, IQ, shoe size and preferred brand of tooth paste are their private concerns and not mine.

He's not really my type, but I don't think he's ugly at all. His intelligence certainly adds to his appeal.
