Target cancelled the order (snow blower)
Hey, I just went to the Target site to check and see if my Toro snow blower had shipped yet and it comes back as cancelled. I haven't gotten an email saying they reimbursed my credit card yet. How do you get in touch with Target on line store? They should have to honor the sale even if it was a mistake on their part.

I got a confirmation email last night, but now I don't see an order at all on their site. That's not cool. I'll have to check email when I get home. They'd better at least placate us with some serious couponage.

Just got off the phone with customer service. They caught the pricing mistake on this and a baby car seat and cancelled all orders. I was extremely pissed and shared my feelings with the rep. I also said that if they weren't going to do the right thing and honor the sale then are they giving the customers a gift card or anything as an I'm sorry? He said not that he was aware of. He said our credit cards were never charged and a mass email will be sent tonight to everyone. I'm royally ticked. I mean I understand they made an error but that's not my fault. We should at least get a gift card or something.

I ordered a car seat for $42.99 and some other stuff off my baby registry. I called and asked about it and the rep said she would make a note on my order that I should get the price of $42.99. My card has not been charged yet, but it said it wasn't to ship until late DEC or JAN.
I think someone somewhere made a huge mistake on several items. I would really like to get the Britax Marathon for less than $50 - it's normally $279, but if I don't, I don't. They owe me nothing and I will owe them nothing.

This can be argued several different ways. If they honored all the baby seats and snow blowers - Target would have to shut their doors. It would literally bankrupt them. Same if they gave out $10 gift cards to everyone - that would put a big hurt on them too. I don't know how long the ads ran for on the internet, but I am sure it was not malicious in an attempt to defraud to the public. I don't know - my order is still showing on the website. I will look for the email tonight.

Wow, Target sounds like they need to get their act together. Handling business in a manner that they are is going to affect their bottom line which is what I'm sure they don't need with the way the economy is now.
Sorry you guys had problems with them.

If they canceled all the orders so fast, they could have send out an email right away too. Sheesh. I just sent an email using words like "upset" and "lack of communication" hoping they'd so something.

I've never seen this from Target before, but Amazon does it frequently. They'll mistakenly offer some high priced item for a ridiculously low price and then when someone realizes the mistake, they freak out and back track like crazy. I have a feeling that someone lost a job over this today.

Well, I got the message I was hoping I wouldn't get.
Greetings from Target.com.
Due to an unexpected error, the following item(s) you have ordered
were incorrectly priced at the time of your order.
Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat - Granite
We're sorry, but we are unable to offer this item for the incorrect
price. The correct price is $279.99. We have canceled your order for
this item. If you would like to order this item at the correct price,
please visit Target.com to check for availability.
Despite our best efforts, a small number of items on our site are
occasionally mis-priced. We do, however, verify prices as part of our
shipping procedures. If we discover that an item's correct price is
higher than our stated price, we will either contact you for
instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of
the cancellation. This pricing policy is posted in the Help section
on Target.com.
Again, we're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused
you. Thank you for being our valued guest.
Sincerely,
Guest Service Department

It's okay - it's wasn't like I was standing in line for 2 days in the rain waiting on it! It was by pure chance I saw someone else start a post on a different board. That's life!

I agree that the mistake was on their part however, if they gave away $279.99 items for $42.99 they would lose major dollars and have to shut their doors. I do commend them for giving you an apology but if they gave out gift cards every time they had an error that would also put them in the poor house.
I would however be upset but you should have known that something that sounded that good, probably was a mistake.

Sorry they were unable to honor that price

I do remember seeing "not responsible for typographical errors" on several companies' sales flyers--maybe it's the same for their websites?
