What's Your Checkbook/Calendar Say About You?
A very wise woman once told me that everything that is most important to me can be discovered by looking at my checkbook and calendar. I think she is right.
My checkbook shows that I am prompt with bills, and generous in giving. It shows that I value books and crafts. It reflects our savings goals.
My calendar shows that I love to be busy, that I make time for friends and family, and that I like to give of my time to help others. It shows that I enjoy dinner dates, library time, and church activities.
What about you? Do your checkbook and calendar accurately reflect what is important to you? Do they reflect who you really are?

Mine both show I am so very unorganized. Neither have anything written on them. I don't use my checkbook.....I pay all of my bills either cash or on my debit card over the phone. I am getting better about my calendar though since my seizure meds make me very forgetful.

My checkbook would show that I shop at discount stores and ebay frequently and I keep my account balanced to the penny. It also shows I pay my bills well before the due date.
My calendar shows that we have something to do almost every week whether it be a birthday party or a doctor visit. I have a desk calendar and two wall calendars and all have the days marked off and appointments and birthdays written on them. The one calendar in the kitchen has pictures of pretty flowers and the others are just plain and business-like. So you know I like colorful things like flowers but I use calendars for more than just a picture. I guess it shows I am pretty organized when it comes to keeping track of events and appointments and many other things like my store scanner submissions, how much DD owes me and when my favorite tv program is on. There are phone numbers on there and other notes. Busy calendar, busy life.

Hmm, my checkbook would show that I pay my bills regularly, buy little but groceries and give to specified charities and my church.
My calendar shows there is something to do every night and that being with my kids and showing them I'm interested in them is very important to me.Mom to Emma, Spencer, Connor, Lily,Fletcher, Amelia and Adeline.

His checkbook would show that my spending is predictable and routine with very little variation.
My calendars would show that I am somewhat organized because I have the entire school year and everyones birthdays posted. It would also prove that I am insane
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

My checkbook shows that I am organized and pay bills regularly. I shop for groceries but not much beyond that.
As for a calendar, I use it for birthdays and a few events but other than that it is empty.~Debra~Wife to Jeff

My checkbook says that I am very predictable with my spending. I shop at the same places most of the time, typically at the same times of the month. It also says that I am very anal about keeping it balanced to the penny.
My calendar says that I keep a busy schedule. It says that I like to keep track of everything so that I do not forget something. Between work schedule for 2 jobs, caterings on the side, birthdays, babysitting my nieces, time with friends, and just blocking some time for me time...I stay slammed. The only way that I can keep up is to live by that calendar some days.

My checkbook would show I save save save and pay everything on my credit card then pay off every month. The only things you see in mine are deposits and transfers to ING then payments to 1 credit card. And its balanced to the penny ALL THE TIME.
My calander would say that I have to write everything down. It would show that I like to plan ahead, and am very organized.

Interesting replies. So true that our values and priorities in life are bound up in the checkbook (whether traditional or on-line bill pay), and our calendar. Money and time, money and time.......... I keep trying to save both, and I end up spending both........

My checkbook says we do nothing but pay bills. Everything else is cash!
My calendar says I take care of my home, like to craft, and spend a lot of time with friends and doing church stuff.

I don't have use my checkbook much. I pay all my bills online. If you looked at my bank statement you would see that I pay all my bills on time, I don't bounce anything, I keep a "cushion" in my account so I don't have to worry about not having enough to cover my bills. I spend cash only. I go to the bank every Thursday and take out a set amount of cash for the week.
My calendar is on my fridge and all it usually has on it is my work schedule so my family can keep track of what I am doing
I do add the odd social commitment such as get-together's or lunch with friends. You would see that I am not a social butterfly and those are few and far between. My son does do not do a ton of classes or extra-curricular activities so there is not much on there for him. My daughter is 16 and she keeps track of her own schedule so there is nothing on there for her.

I never write checks, I use the debit card. But there is a boring predictability, bills, groceries, gas for car.
The only thing on the calendar is doctor appointments.
