Default Vodka in Caesars and Saving $

A friend and I have (for the past few months) been vegging at my home in the evenings (probably a couple times a week) drinking Caesars. We both only drink one per evening. We take turns buying the stuff needed. I've been considering starting to drink mine virgin (which I've never tried) to save money. By the time I break it down as to what I'm paying for the vodka alone, it's about $1 per glass. Maybe I'm a cheapskate, but I think that's a lot!

In your experience, have you started to take your drinks virgin to save money? Am I alone? Is there a huge taste difference; my friend says that it's just not the same without the vodka! What do you think?

Can you afford the $1 a drink? If so, keep doing it. I think you and your friend getting together and having a drink is a wonderful frugal activity. You get the socialization and the fun without the cost and the hassle.

    She just wouldn't.

I wouldn't skip the booze. But then, our neighbor built a bar in his barn and it's always stocked. Free booze.

There is no way I would skip the vodka.

Have you been buying a top shelf V or are you buying something cheaper? I always buy the middle grade vodka when making mixed drinks.

And $1 per drink to relax with your friend sounds like a really great deal!!!

Sorry I was as unclear as mud.

I wouldn't skip the vodka. LOL. If it's your treat then don't skimp on it.
