"the Happy Thread!!!!"
With all the sad things people are going through (not to MENTION the news), I decided to start a "Happy Thread" (with Thanksgiving coming up, we could also include things we are thankful for) where we can post happy things that are going on in our life or just things that put a smile on our face. I'll go first, I'm happy because I have a roof over my head, food on the table and a mother and son who love me.

quick story -
On the way home from work the other day, driving through a small one light town, we drove by a lone boy whose legs were obviously diseased. Not sure what disease caused it but both legs weren't straight. I don't know how else to put it.
Anyway, I thought about the life I have had, and realize that that boy will probably never have it as good as I have had and I felt ashamed of myself that day.
I felt ashamed because earlier in the day I had been complaining about the economy, dogs, bills, etc and I was in a foul mood until I saw that boy.
My life is perfect, I could not ask for more. I'm thankful I can get out of bed everyday, stand up straight and kiss my wife on the cheek.
I'm thankful.Last edited by Russ; 11-22-2008 at 07:39 AM.

We've already had our Canadian Thanksgiving.
I am happy for...
- a beautiful, healthy family (precious children and devoted/faithful husband)
- a Saviour who died for my sins
- a wonderful church family
- freedom to worship my Lord
- family (including mom, dad, siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws)
- a roof over my head
- food (I have no idea what it is to go hungry!)
- money (DH's good job and my small home business)
- clothes
- DH's company car (which we don't have to pay insurance or gas for) and a van (the van has been such a blessing to the family)
- that I've found Frugal Village (I've learned a lot of frugal tips since joining!)
The list could easily go on and on. I know I've forgotten many more things I'm happy and thankful for, but these are a few!An obstacle is what comes up when you lose sight of your goal.

Even though I am having a hard time right now, I am thankful for it. It shows me that there are things in life we can't escape from. That even though at times, we don't think anything bad will happen, it can and will.
I am thankful that I have a dh that is the man that he is.
I am thankful for my children.
I am thankful for my place in life now. And for what it may become.
I am thankful that even though my mom and I don't get along, we can put it aside and still be able to say I love you and mean it.
I am thankful that I have a home.
I am thankful that even though I have medical problems, I am able to get around. I am able to do things still.
I am thankful for the extended family that I have.
I am thankful for the adopted kids that I have. Since I have went back to work, I have seen all of them again and now that they are adults, they have all told me that if I hadn't been there for them, they are not sure where they would be at.
I am thankful that we are making it, even though money is tight, we have enough for our needs, maybe not our wants, but our needs are met and right now, that's fine!
I am thankful that I live in a country that I can live in that is still the land of the free and home of the brave.

Today... I'm glad the EMG i had done today is OVER and that my back is feeling better as the days go by. When when I did have major pain I was lucky as others have things much worse. Whatever comes next with this back I know I will be OK.

Oh great thread!
I'm thankful to have a chance to get out of bed every morning and try to make the new day better than day before.
I'm thankful for my husband and son. The three of us truly are 3 peas in a pod.
I'm thankful for all we have, no matter how small to some it all may seem or how much to others it all may seem...I'm grateful for it.
I'm thankful for our home and our life.
I'm thankful for the country air I breathe.
I'm thankful for living in a state with so much to do outdoors.
I'm happy to be alive.
I'm happy the cat we had that has been missing for 6 months wondered back home, healthy and remembering us.
I'm happy that I finally seem to be over my cold.
