Yes, as a matter of fact, I do have this on the right side. I don't take any meds for it. Rather, I vigorously exercise each day and stretch. I get a professional massage each month that concentrates on these areas. And when the pain hits, I try to soak in a hot tub. Very rarely will I take tylenol or something similar. I just try to do alternative things.

Both my husband and I suffer from it at some level or another. Mine kind of comes and goes and the pain is usually constant from my lower back on the left side, through my hip and all the way down my leg.for about a week or two. Then the pain seems to subside for awhile after that. Mine tends to flare up so to speak about every two months or so it seems lol. My DH has it constantly, but the pain going from his back down his legs seems to vary, from intense to just being a constant dulling pain. Sometimes he has trouble getting to a standing position after sitting awhile. Sometimes his is so bad that he has to walk with a limp and his constant bending over at work does a number on him as well.

Neither of us is medicated over it so I can offer no advice on that. Sometimes DH has to take several aleeve for a day or so, but really his pain is so constant he's just learn to live with it and go on as best he can. The one and only thing that really use to help him greatly was going to the chiropractor but he hasn't done that in a long time do to the one he used moving and us not having insurance so it's hard to get in to see others.

Yeah I have it off and on. My lower back is a mess with disc problems, arthritis and bone spurs. The one thing that keeps me feeling better most of the time is going to my chiopractor. If it wasn't for her I don't know what I would feel like.

I just dealt with it for the first time and am so glad it's at bay now. Keep moving as much as possible, walk. Be very careful how you lift forever more. It can take weeks( Seems to take forever & mornings were the worst) but at least with me it is oh so much better. I know it's hard to wake up everyday in pain I just hope you( like me) in time, each day will find yourself feeling better & better.
    Take good care!

I get a flare up once in a while. I find that pain relievers don't do anything. Being active and moving about loosens things up. I also have special exercises that help relieve the pain. Also hot baths really helped.

I get a flare up every few weeks, usually if I have been sitting too long. I hit my tailbone 2 years ago and I've had it since then. Other than getting a shot( when I first hit tailbone), I just have my fiance dig into the nerve, the more he makes it hurt the better it feels when he is done. It's one of those pains that you have to make hurt so good. I have a very high tolerence for pain though.

my dh & I both suffer from time to time with it. Dh had his first bout when he was 32. Right now, he has more knee problems(48 now). When he had to deal with sciatica, he had to take a week off of work, take anti-inflamatory medications & go through physical therapy & ice packs.
With me, it flares up if I'm standing in one position too long. I find that if I am on my feet, I need to keep moving. It flares up, then it goes away & I've been dealing with this for 4 years.I take ibuprophen when it gets bad..but I know eventually, I'm going to have to see a doctor & I really hate doctors.lol.

I have rare flare-ups with lower back spasms down the buttocks/hip. The last time I had a flare-up I could not take medication (i.e. ibuprofen, muscle relaxers, etc.) as I just found out I was pregnant. I decided to go to a chiro for the first time and was sent on my way home in worse pain than before I went in. He did that electro shock therapy that felt good until I had to get off that table. What did help me was using this gel called Biofreeze - it penetrates real deep, better than Ben Gay or a heating pad.

My cousin recommends Bio-freeze. I've not tried it yet myself.

I have it on my right side. It hurts all the way down but I really feel it in my knee. I do yoga and stretch, hot baths if it's really bothering me. Motrin if it really hurts and I can't stop.
