    Default another apology--to Mrs. McDowell...

In the post where you asked what we sing/sang to our kids---I was in a slap-happy mood and put that funny you-tube vid. I couldn't tell from your response whether I offended you or not, but it sounded like I did. I'm sorry about that.

As I said, I can get slap-happy about parenting, especially now that my boys are grown. It can be funny to look back at all of it. I just meant that, now that I've been through it ALL, ---teen years, college years, etc----I MIGHT have sung that kind of song to them if I'd known what some of their high-jinks were going to be like, LOL. But, they are my life, my reason for being here. I love them dearly.

I ACTUALLY sang songs from Sound of music (think--My Favorite Things, etc.) and Mary Poppins ('stay awake, don't rest your head', for my non-sleeper) and hummed a couple of classical songs I like.

Funny story--when I was up one night at 3 am, rocking and humming to my non-sleeper (ds#1), he looked at me and put his finger over his mouth and said 'sshhhh'. I guess that says a lot about my singing voice. LOL! He is 24 going on 25 now.

OMG--are you kidding? I had to go look at the thread to even figure out what you were talking about!!! It didn't offend me at all! It reminded me of something my mom would say, actually. Don't apologize--all is well!!!

(BTW--Holy Exclamation Point, Batman! Could I have used any more of those suckers?)

Oh, goooood. I'm so relieved. I hate to think I've offended someone. I thought about it long and hard and couldn't decide till now whether to say something until I saw an apology someone made here. I thought, why not? Better then wondering. I thought maybe my post sounded like an old jaded, cranky mom to you, who sang angry songs to her kids. LOL!
