Prayers needed...PLEASE
My DS13 asked me the other night if boys can get nipple cancer. He laughed and I didn't really get into male breast cancer with him because he is a worry wart and a few years ago my brother had testicular cancer. Well.....yesterday while waiting for DS12's football game to start DS13 layed his in my lap. I put my hand on his chest and noticed a bit of "swelling" in his nipple area, I began feeling around and he has a large lump in his breast area. I am going to get him into the DR tomorrow but for now I am praying its something non-serious, a cyst maybe or normal for his age. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm sure that it will turn out to be just a cyst. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and I hope that your answer will be in the form of good news very soon.

I will be praying that it is nothing serious. MY DS#2 and DS#3 have both had pain and swelling in the nipples. I also took them to the doctor because I was also worried. It turned out to be swollen lymph nodes. Hopefully you will receive good news too.

It's probably gynecomastia. Totally normal and nothing to worry about.
http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic934.htm
Gynecomastia is the most common cause for male breast evaluation. It is common in infancy, adolescence, and in middle-aged to older adult males. One estimate is that 60-90% of infants have transient gynecomastia due to the high estrogen state of pregnancy.
The next peak of occurrence is during puberty, with a prevalence ranging from 4-69%. Some reports have shown a transient increase in estradiol concentration at the onset of puberty in boys who develop gynecomastia. Pubertal gynecomastia usually has an onset in boys aged 10-12 years. It generally regresses within 18 months, and persistence is uncommon in men older than 17 years.Mom to Emma, Spencer, Connor, Lily,Fletcher, Amelia and Adeline.

My 12 y.o. DS had this in both nipples a few months ago. I figured it was gynecomastia, but I took him to the doctor anyway. The M.D. confirmed the diagnosis. After a few months the lumps went away. I'm hoping it's the same for your DS. Please keep us updated.
