    Default I'm back

I've been MIA for a few months and I definitely need to be back. I started homeschooling my 3 youngest in September and they are doing well and we are all enjoying it. But it took a while to get onto some semblance of a schedule. I also started babysitting 2 more kids. Which took a while to get used to also. We also finished some of the much needed renovations. After spending the money to do the renos, the computer crashed. Big problem as the twins need it for their online classes. So we ended up buying 2 laptops, on sale of course, but they did go onto the credit card. Then with the weather getting bad we had to put new tires on the van, we knew this and had some money saved but not enough. So that too went on the credit card. So now we are working towards paying off the credit cards again. But this time I am also building up the EF at the same time so we can use that if needed and we will get rid of the credit cards.

A few weeks ago my husband called from the hospital, he had managed to stab himself in the hand, the knife went right through the palm. It has healed really fast and he seems to have feeling and movement so that is great. He has always hated his job and now they are talking about moving him to a really sucky job so he is pretty upset. In the past 2 weeks we have taken on 12 flyer delivery routes and he has been looking for another job. We know he will have to take a lower paying job, that's why we took on the flyer routes. So that's my excitement of the last few months.

Wow....sounds like you've lived in a whirlwind. I hope things settle down and you get back into the 'groove' of things soon. Glad you're back.

WB Danni! Sorry things got so hectic. Hate it when things go wrong.

Can I ask what you are charging for childcare? You're in the capital city right?

Hopefully things settle and your dh gets a much better job, at least emotionally so.

I'm in Medicine Hat. I'm not charging very much because it is for 2 of my friends. One is a single mom making not much more than min wage, and the other is a single mom going to school. I'm only charging them $20/day each but not giving receipts. So it isn't alot extra but it helps us and them out, so it's all good.
