    Default It's been so cold...

I think it could have frozen the nips right off the Mexican Playboy's December cover model.

It was seriously that cold! Sunday was the worst, but this morning we woke up to -30C regular temps and -40C wind chill. I walked Dakota to school this afternoon at 12:20 and it was still -30 outside. I wore layers on everything but my legs, and you could tell the difference! My legs were only covered by denim and with being outside for ten to fifteen minutes, they were completely numb.

They don't kid ya when they say to dress in layers. Oh boy!

Anyone else have some downright cold weather today?

Good old Manitoba is getting the same weather, just a tad bit colder. Two days ago it was -50C with the windchill, yesterday -44C with windchill and this morning it was -32C (-42C with windchill). I heard it's suppose to be like this for the next 2-3 months. I'm hoping it's not.

The cold even reached down to south central Kansas (no as bitter, however) we woke up to 4 degrees......ppl here are simply not used to this kind of cold....we used to live in Northern Iowa, where we could go for days and weeks without hitting ZERO(f)....anyway, 4 degrees is still plenty cold......I think the high was suppsoed to be like 12 today....

It's in the 60's here and should be all week. I don't think I could handle those really cold temps.

It;s freezing here, down to -18 last night, got up to 4 degrees today. Thats without the windchill. Hopefully it moves out soon. Looks like we have it here for a week, at least.

The furance is running like crazy, and the cold goes right thru you when you go outside. Oh, I wish we lived somewhere warmer...

I can handle it if I'm all bundled up, and there's no wind to speak of. Thank goodness we got most of our Christmas shopping done Friday when it started coming in as we were done, then on Saturday it was crazy! We went at about noon to the store on Saturday and I couldn't walk around without gloves off. We didn't dare go outside yesterday and DH was surprised I took Dakota to school today. It'll be between -10C and -20C until New Years. Thank the Lord we get this two weeks out of November and December, then two more weeks in January and February and that's it!

It's -16 here and will hit about -20 tonight. Earlier in the day I heard the elementary schools PA announcement ( we live 2 houses away) that they wouldn't be letting the kids out to play at lunch because with wind chill it was -25, this was at 11am!

It's hard to believe the weather is like that in Kelowna. Our son who drives semi-trucks sent us a picture through e-mail. It was the kokahola (sp) and it was straight ice.

Yeah, even Osoyoos (did I spell that right?) got snow. Vancouver got about 14cm, which is shy of what we got on Friday. I am just glad this isn't like how it is in Upstate NY where if it's -5F, it feels like -30F because of the humidity.

Kelowna always has cold snowy winters, even though we are at the northern tip of the only desert in Canada, LOL. The first winter I moved here from Vancouver it was minus 38 degrees, I mean we had snow occasionaly in Vancouver but, OH MY, it was an eye opener. We have about 6-8 inches of snow here also. It one of the things I love about Kelowna, cold winters and freakin hot summers!

Brr! And this is why I live in Florida.

It was in the 80's here today. I'm waiting for the "chill" to come so it at least feels like the holidays, but we're enjoying the fact that we can go outside and play.

Hope ya'll don't think I'm braggin, I've actually never seen snow, so I don't know what I would do in weather like that. I wouldn't leave my house, that's for sure.

I don't like the heat. I don't normally get cold. But I insisted we finally turn the heat on today.
