Default Help on a gift idea for DH.. See post for details

Ok, along time ago I promised DH that when I got my house, he could get his boat.. Well, he never got the boat.. A friend of mine is selling a Canoe for $100 so I'm snatching it up as a surprise for DH.. Here's where my big mouth comes in....I made a comment to DH that his present might not fit under the tree... At first he was confused but quickly KNEW what the present was.. My SIL and I have been trying desperately to change his idea with no results....We figured out how to have the canoe come later in the day so he's kind of stumped Xmas morning but now I need to come up with something thats not too expensive but would be big enough (and useful) that I might think it might not fit under the tree.... So far I've gotten Car ramps (he's not mechanically inclinded and these would sit in the basement more than they would get used), a tool box (this one might work but he's not mechanically inclinded so I think the set up he has already is sufficient... IT's just a big green wooden box but it was his grandfathers and it does resemble a tool box with a top tray... He likes it.) and oars (they are included with the canoe) for ideas from friends/family...
I need your help/ideas as to what I could possibly get him that would be that big..
To help you out he's into fishing ALOT( I thought about getting yet another fishing pole-he already has like 15- and finding a long box to put it in but I have never wrapped one before), he doesn't read, his only real hobby is fishing...
Ugh, why did I open my big mouth! Oh, and by the way, I'm horrible at lying! For some reason people can see right through me!
Please, throw me your ideas.. Anything!
One more catch... The canoe is orange and he KNOWS it.. So, I'm looking for whatever this big item is to be orange as well...
See? I'm stuck.. I need your help!
    Thank you!

How about wrapping a hug box, fill it with stuff to make it heavy and put a note in there,,,,, that way he sees the huge box under the tree and then thinks that hes not getting the boat...until he opens the box and reads the note...or something

Put the oars in his stocking, or rather the stocking on the top of the oars, then make a mystery not to where the boat will be hidden , send him on a treasure hunt!!!

You could always pick him up a cheap bottle of the old school cologne "Canoe" and wrap it up for him.

Get him a orange life jacket and tell him he is a lifesaver.

Remeber the burnt orange and avocado decor of the 70's? I know in my area theres usually one or two of the local thrift stores that carry furniture from that era. As a joke and to put him off track why don't you see if you can find an old orange lazy boy or other large piece of furniture or decor!

Put the oars in a box and wrap it up.

That way, when he sees it under the tree, he'll know it's not a canoe. But when he opens it up, he'll figure it out!
