I Lived to Tell You About It!
I joined a little theatre group this winter. And our first performance was tonight. I had the female lead and was pretty nervous about it. It's been a long time since I was on stage. Our tech rehearsal was really bad, but that's usually a good sign that all will be well.
And it was. I didn't fall down, forget my lines or make a fool of myself.
Funny....... I slipped on the ice this morning when I went out to feed the dog, and as I was sliding back down the hill on all fours, I thought, "Wouldn't it be ironic if I really did break a leg?" But I stayed upright and conscious all through the performance, and actually enjoyed it!
Two more performances to go......
Have you ever had theatre experience? In school? A community group? A church group? What is your stage story? Are you a dramatic person?Spiritual:

Good job! I was in a children's theatre group in grade school through high school, haven't had much time for it since becoming a wife and mother.
I will always remember the feeling of being about ready to go on and just being sure I was going to throw up as soon as I got on the stage in front of everyone! Never did though, it was always so exhilarating once I got on stage that the nerves went away!
Sound like you had fun! You'll have to post some pics of you in costume or on stage, I'd love to see them! What is the play, who do you play????

I'm glad it worked out well and I am sure that the next two will be just as wonderful.
The only theater experience was in 6th one-act plays and monologues that year. It was really quite fun. It was 1st thorugh 6th grade school and maybe 67 students total, so we got to perform for all the other kids as well as our parents plus we got to travel to one other shcool in our school union to perform for those students and parents as one of the other schools would come to ours, sometimes it was the school we went to and sometimes one of the others. Great times, thank you for reminding me.Last edited by LuvMyHubby; 12-20-2008 at 10:18 AM.

Thanks for your generous feedback! The play is a Christmas musical, but I'm not musical, so I do the acting.

Oh, you had me giggling!!!!

Way to go on the great performance, I would have liked to have been in the audience! I avoid that kind of stuff like the plague! The most I've ever done in front of a large group are speeches and debates in college. I was so nervous I could have died, and to this day just do things in small groups only.
