    Default just bought on ebay...

just bought on ebay (jool collecting is a hobby of mine) a ruby ring for 25 plus shipping. The vendor stated it was sterling, but my gut is telling me it is platinum. the cushion cut ruby itself is mined (can see the slight inclusions/rutile) not vernieul, doublet, or synthetic and is a magnificent "marlboro cigarette box" red.

i think it is platinum becuase it is at least 100 years old, and not tarnished at all.

I can't wait to get it!!!!!! And if it is just sterling it is a very pretty ring.

emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)

    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

I'm educating myself on vintage jewelry. I will be selling on ebay. A very sweet lady who has been selling for 30yrs has offered to teach me.

I hope you are right about your ring, what a great deal!

The ring sounds delightful. You must show us pictures when you get it!

may i recommend any of the books by antoinette matlin and by renee newman?

i am really really good at finding good used stuff on ebay and junk stores. this is not the first time i got something platinum because the person selling it thought it was sterling. they confuse the 925 mark with the 900 mark or the 950 mark.
