Default What's today look lilke for you? 12-22-08

Well today is my first day off for vacation and I have all the last minute stuff yet to do for Christmas Eve and Christmas. I feel awful though and just want to curl up in bed. I'm going to finish up this cup of tea I'm working on and then push through the day in an attempt to get everything done so that I can just stay in bed tommorrow if I still like this. I am hopeing it's just a head cold and not strep.

So on the agenda today is:
~ to get everything I need to dropped off at work
~ head to Super Wally World for all the last minute odds and ends (mostly groceries)
~ cash in some points at the gas station for some gas cards
    ~ finish all the wrapping
~ do the final cookie set
    ~ make the struffili (sp)
~ have the boys clean thier rooms
~ drop off books at the library (and maybe pick up a couple)
~ if the over the counter stuff doesn't make me fell any better soon I'll be making a run by the immediate care center so they can check for strep as I'm going on several days of this now and it is getting worse instead of clearing up

Hopefully I'll have the energy to get through the list and whatever else pops up. I'll just keep thinking about getting to spend tommorrow in bed.

I'm at work until 5, but I woke up this morning to 3 degree temps and no water. I'm assuming our pipes are frozen? We just had the line replaced from the water heater to the meter because of a leak, and it's been raining so much the yard is still a mess. I'm wondering if there isn't enough dirt on top of them right now. We can't really do anything until it warms up and dries out!

So, my evening will depend on whether or not I have water. I need to finish up last minute Christmas shopping if I can figure out what I'm buying. I also have loads of cleaning to do in the house. Mostly today will just be a regular work day for me.

It's my first day off, too. I found out yesterday that we aren't hosting. What a relief! I was pretty sure we were stuck with Xmas Eve.

I'm going to workout, then I'm going to hit the post office and a couple of thrift stores. Then I need to clean, bake a batch of cookies, and cook dinner when DH gets home from work.

A busy day planned here. I got up this morning and did the treadmill, took care of the linens, did the pet chores, brought up some wood.I plan on spending the entire day working on the house. We are going to focus on the upstairs and the guest rooms, as we will be having a few overnight guests .I will have a friend stop by around four to do aerobics, then I need to get supper and wrap gifts.Gotta get moving.Have a great day!

Yesterday I was in the kitchen all day baking and cooking. The house is already clean. So today other than my normal daily chores, I plan to do absolutely nothing. DS is out of school and it's cold outside so curling up with a good book or a watching great movie is on our list for the day. It's a free lazy day.

Did all my wrapping yesterday & the house got cleaned this weekend so no major stuff needing done now. I'll be bundling up and heading to the PO to get mail & mail off a pkg. in a few. Waiting on UPS to deliver something today & will wrap it pronto. Oh need to unbury my car too.
Was going to make sugar cookie dough today & pop it in the fridge for Wed but I'll wait & do that tomorrow. I'll do my grocery shopping then too.

I'm busy, busy. Cleaning bathrooms, straightening everywhere -- so much needs putting away. I may make some pecan logs. Just lots to do before DH's family arrives Friday morning! Before Thursday I need to make two butterscotch pies and before Friday I need to make deviled eggs, mashed potatoes and butterscotch fudge.

I need to go grocery shopping for Christmas Eve and day, along with picking up a few more stocking stuffers for the kids. I'm hoping to get some baking done today, too. I want to make peanut butter fudge and the Snickerdoodle recipe posted here.

I also have lots of wrapping to do, and cleaning and laundry . . .

I'm tired just thinking about it all, and I haven't even started yet, lol!

Today and tomorrow I am at work, tying up loose ends. Then my PAID bonus days for vacation kick in, and I am off from Christmas Eve until January 5th. It's one of the biggest perks of my job, topped only by the free education benefit.
So, I will be working till about 5 and then stopping to pick my oldest son's Holiday Penguin gift up (pajamas for Christmas Eve) and then home to eat and get the boys to bed so I can start wrapping presents.

I have a lot to do today. My folks are coming down to spend Christmas with us and my Dh is super busy at work.
Today, I need to clean, clean, clean. This includes decluttering, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and laundry. I also have to clean the kitchen and bathrooms.
I also need to finish putting pictures up on the walls. As well as finish putting up the Christmas decorations.
I would also like to get some baking done and I a need to wrap DH's gifts.
I need to get this done today, because tomorrow I will be working at DH's office and I really want to enjoy Christmas Eve before my folks come.
