Man oh man, it has been quite a run of bad luck. The truck recovery is a miracle. I think you're doing the right thing about the house.....I honestly believe that if things are meant to be, they will come easily.

    Sorry about the bad luck!

If you do not close on the house, will you lose on the deposit? I would be consulting a lawyer.

We have thought about that and are having the ignition switch replaced in the truck, our locks changed at our house, and my car key reprogrammed. They have access to our two vehicles and home.

Believe me, it isn't easy to let any of them drive anything else. DS#1 has a car but the transmission is out. He is saving to replace it. He better save a little faster. I have been taking him to work and picking him up because my heart can't take something else happening right now. I would die if something else happened and he was involved....or I would kill him. :pullhair: At least he does give us $200 every two weeks to drive our vehicles and live at home. Some months he pays $400 a month and some months, $600.

As for DS#2, shoot me, but we are looking for him another car. He accident was that - an accident. We pay enough for insurance so that everything was covered and we will continue to pay for good insurance.

We will lose around $800, but I see it as a life lesson.

The fact you walked away from the house instead of making a bad deal shows you are going to be okay. Most people would have done anything because they just had to have the house. This is a life lesson that will serve you well.

We had to step back and think about this decision. At first, we wanted to move forward with it, but then we thought about it. We figured if we are starting out with problems, what would our life be like in the home? We took it as a sign and stepped away.

It is funny because today DH and I were talking about how relieved we are that we made the decision not to move forward with the house. I wasn't sure DH would feel that way, but am glad that we both feel the same way. We have no regrets!
