What Was Your Christmas Breakfast?
Christmas breakfast is always a little out of the ordinary for us. It's not the same every year, but it is something special just for that day. We usually have breakfast AFTER the gifts.
Today I made turnovers with puff pastry, cream cheese and raspberry jam, with cream cheese frosting on top. I'm sure there was something healthy somewhere in it!! LOL!! With that we had cranberry juice and a pot of wonderful coffee.

DH and I had toast with Cheese Whiz & coffee. The girls had corn pops and a few bites of our toast & water. We didn't really have time to sit down and have a real breakfast because of the excitement of Christmas gifts.

We had fried everything. My mom gave us a deep fryer last night so we made home fries from the leftover potatoes from dinner and donuts made from the left over rolls. I can honestly say we have never eaten a fried dinner roll before but it was fun.
And we made coffee with our new stove top Paula dean peculator!

Banana bread and pumpkin bread and xmas cookies that our neighbors gave us yesterday
“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”
— From a translation of an inscription on
an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Um... I had some left overs from the dinner we had last night + my coffee. The girls have been eating a little of the chocolate from their stockings but that's it.

When my husband wakes up I'm sure he'll make us some breakfast burritos.
My kids were up at 430 this morning. I meant to get some video of them with their presents but they had everything out by the time I was able to drag my butt out of bed.

We had eggs, ham (left over from last night) and toast. We let the kids open stockings as they get up but they have to wait until after breakfast is eaten before they get to open any presents so they (well mostly Emily) was happy that I didn't make coffee cake this year which takes a while to cook

Waffles! Made on my new-from-Santa waffle maker - the kind that you pour the batter in, turn it over, and when it beeps, it's done! Yum!
