A Real Chistmas Miracle!
I just wanted to share this with my frugal friends. If it were not for Freecycle, it never would have happend.

I posted on freecycle that I needed used winter clothes for my 5 new grandchildren. (Son met girl with 5 children 5 months ago and fell in love, awe....) Last Wednesday I got emails that 2 families had clothes that their children had outgrown. I got so many nice outfits for all of the children and some things like tupperware bowls, 2 Wilton Gingerbread Tree Kits, Lotions, Fragrant Sprays, new twin sheet set, Junie B. Jones and Romona books, even a necklace and earrings and another lady called and had Toys!
But, from 1 family, a gift was given that we are still in shock over.
The husband had me sit in their garage (which is totally wierd cause when you go to pick up stuff from a freecycler, you just meet and leave) and pulled out his pen and notepad and with barely any information given to him but him wanting to know my son's new families "needs" right now, this man called his office and had them print a blank check and he took that check down to the dealership where my son's loan for his truck is and PAID THE TRUCK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!! The payoff was around $2,000.00! He said anyone young man of 23 who takes on the responsibility of a woman and her 5 children deserves some help.LOL.
Turns out this man is an elected official here in town who I didn't recognize until he said he wanted to help my son's family. It's quite a long story but fascinating how it all turned out. There is a program that receives funds that this man has the discretion of spending/donating. His only requirement from my son is that he write a short note thanking this man and the program fund to put with the canceled check to prove that he didn't just give the money to one of his friends. I cried and huged the wife and then the man, lol, I couldn't help myself!
The clear Title for the truck and the extra key came on Monday. The reason my son needed this MIRACLE so badly is because as of Dec. 1st he was 3 months behind on his payments, owing $1200.00 and with it almost being paid off he didn't want to lose it (it's their only vehicle) and it would have been untill they got their tax refund before he could pay the arrears since he was off work for about 3 weeks and just started a new job a few weeks go and it's just seasonal.
Isn't that just AMAZING!!!"Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibity."

Wow, wether it be God or Karma at work, I think your son is being rewarded for his kindness. I realize to him, he simply fell in love with this woman and her children, and to him it probably isn't anything special. But to an outsider to see a man fall in love with a woman and her children, I think we tend to think that most men would run for the hills when they hear 5 kids!
I'm so glad he had his Christmas miracle!

That just makes my heart sing to hear that story. I had almost lost the feeling that mankind has a good streak in them since being on the road and in parking lots yesterday. I guess there is some kindness left out there after all.

What a great story. You are a wonderful woman to be so kind to your son's new love and kiddos. They are lucky to have a new grandparent like you.
