A buddy of mine gave me his Jeep yesterday. It is the first 4wd anything I have ever owned. It has about 100K miles, needs a tune up. I put a tranny in it about 3 months ago, and he has not put a tag on it so it has no miles on the tranny (automatic). It is a six cyl. with air conditioning. There is a soft top in the back.
Sweet! What a great friend you have. A good friend of mine had a Wrangler when we were in high school. We had a lot of fun times with that Jeep! My only advice...don't go to a movie and leave the soft top down...It could start raining unexpectedly.
wow what a great gift!!! my dad has 2 jeeps - one he actually built from the ground up. when he and my mom went to get the body on the way back they stopped at a gas station, i guess the body was on the trailer at a weird angle and he heard some guy saying to another "what is that? a hot tub?" my mom and dad got a laugh outta that.
oh and happy bday......and many more!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Birthday and congratulations on the gift. As a young man, I always wanted a four wheel drive vehicle. Now we have two. The unfortunate thing is it quit snowing here. I just watch the flurries and think about tackling foot deep snows in my chevrolet celebrity. I have liked jeeps because everything you need is available on the aftermarket. I hope you enjoy it.
It's warm now! It was 70 yesterday, and it is 62 right now.
It is a six cyl. Jeep. I don't speak metric, but the sticker on the back says 4.0. The Jeep needs some work. I need to weld up an exhaust leak, reinstall the rear seat brackets, find and fix what is throwing the trouble codes, and find out if the dash charge guage is working. I get 14.5 volts at the battery running (which is normal) and the guage shows 9.5. It may be a problem with the regulator, which is in the computer on this era Chrysler vehicles. GRRRR..
And the driver's door does not work when the door panel is installed. Minor adjustement and lubrication. (everything is better when well lubed!)
I spent my birthday cleaning it up, fixing the fuel injection on my wife's Pontiac, and putting a new carubretor on my 57 Plymouth. And drinking. I did a LOT of drinking.
So, it was a GOOD DAY!!!!
