12/29/2008: 1/2 Hour of Purging my closet...
I spent 1/2 hour purging my closet of excess short sleeve t-shirts (I have a serious fetish with t-shirts...) and went through the side closet shelf of short sleeve t-shirts, and the extra stack of them that began on the top box under the closet shelf. The shelf in the side closet is still as full as before with them, but the extra stack on the box is now considerably shorter -- it's now below the closet shelf, instead of going clear up to the ceiling.

I still have another box of short sleeve t-shirts stashed away in the closet, which hasn't seen the light of day since I put it in there, and maybe some under my bed (I think... I may have taken care of that one in the last purge.) -- which I need to go through. Then it's on to the long sleeve t-shirts on the shelf in the main closet. There's not as many of them, but still more than I need. (There's still more than I need of the ones I went through today, but one baby step at a time here....)
Anyway, what I did today yielded one big black trash/yard waste garbage bag of t-shirts for D.I. (Deseret Industries -- thrift store).

Do you want to come do my closet?

Just kidding...wouldn't wish that on anyone. (But it is on my list to do) Seriously...sounds like you accomplished alot!

Yup. Felt so good, I took another 15 minute stab at it. Took out that "never seen the light of day" box of 'em, and out go about 95% of those. Some still work, and they went on top of that extra stack in the main closet, which is now above the shelf line, but still not touching the ceiling. When I clean out the hanging shirts, I hope all of those will get hung up. Then there's the long sleeve ones on that shelf of the main closet...
Two big bags to the thrift store!

I've had to help someone clean out her closet (and her clothes of all sorts weren't as bad as my t-shirt stash!). She was on the verge of bawling! (A family member of hers made me do it, though. This lady wasn't going to do it on her own.)
Wondering what I'm going to do with a space in my closet with room for a pear box size box... (Nothing!)

We spent a big part of the day going through our closets today. We always try to purge our home of unused stuff this time of the year. DW and I both hate clutter and try to keep it to a minimum. It still creeps in more than we realize until we start finding good homes for all of it.
