    Default New Year's Eve Plans?

Did I miss this thread? Plans anyone? Any great traditions to share?

We invited a few friends over, who invited some friends over. I am excited to see everyone. I imagine I'll start out all dressed up and quickly change into some comfy clothes (I have been living in my jammies for the last three days) We'll do appetizers and drinks. Then more drinks followed by more drinks.

I am a little worried that sleeping quarters will be CROWDED! I asked everyone to stay since driving on New Year's Eve frightens me. Showers in the morning should be interesting.

    Totals:
    Adults ~ 9-13 possibly
    Teenagers ~ 2 possibly
    Kids (under 16) ~ 7 possibly

Well we were supposed to go to his brothers for a big pizza/card party. His brother makes the best homemade pizza I've ever had. The only problem is fiance works at least until 6pm and his brother works also and doesn't know if he will have time to get the pizza dough ready. I would rather just stay home where it is safe and warm. The trip to his brothers is an hour drive and I'll be ready for bed by 10pm!!!!

We are going to see some friends. I'm sure we'll be staying the night, since we also don't believe in being on the roads on New Year's Eve. I don't mind going, or staying over night, but it mean's packing up not only the kids, but the dogs too! But at least our friends love having our dogs there (they are dogless after having to put their 12 year old dog down about a year ago).

My daughter's birthday is December 31st, so our New Years' plans always revolve around celebrating her special day. This year, we are going ice skating and then to dinner at her favorite restaurant, Bucca di Beppo.

We will be staying in (as always) and watching old Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers movies. This is a tradition started with my Grandmother and I now carry it on with my husband. I plan on passing it on to our kids when they are older. Unfortunately my husband is scheduled to work at 7am Thursday (if he still has a job), so we'll be to bed shortly after midnight. I'll probably have some champagne.

We are low key. I make baklava and we have that along with sparkling grape juice at midnight. We watch fav old movies, and then dive into bed when the clock strikes midnight.

We planned a low key get together at our place. Eat good food, maybe play some cards. Invited only a few people who would like to just stay in anyway.

We'll be staying home alone, so it'll be a quiet celebration. I'll be lucky to make it to 10 0'clock, let alone midnight. I would love to have some friends over but we're in the boonies and nobody ever wants to drive this far. Maybe next year...

Zac and I decided to stay in this year. We may break out some bubbly but other than that we are just going to stay in and watch movies and share a midnight kiss.

Hubby wants to get me drunk so he can practice his field sobriety tests.
