What do you want to carry over into the new year?

Just musing over the past year, and what I want to carry over into the new year. What have you learned this year that you want to continue next year?

Here are the things that have worked well for me this past year. I want to carry these into the new year and keep on working on them.

    1. Learning to love Hubby more
    2. Learning to forgive
    3. Learning to make do in places that I didn't think I could make do
    4. Learning new skills in refinishing a house
    5. Learning to be more generous
    6. Learning to care for my body to make it last
    7. Learning to take time to just sit and listen
    8. Learning to be more gentle
    9. Learning to scrapbook
    10. Learning to make more time for the people who are most important to me
    11. Learning to use my time more efficiently
    12. Learning to stockpile in a more logical way
    13. Learning how to save on a fixed income
    Spiritual:
"You are fearfully and wonderfully made." Please... respect life.

    Financial:
Debt free, hoping to stay that way!

    1. Keep on writing.
    2. Get some balance in my life.
    3. Lose weight. Hopefully 5# this year. (9.5 pounds right now! Yay, Me!!)
    4. Continue to be looking for how God wants to use me this year.

I could have not said it better. I agree. A big 1 for me working harder at doing what The Lord ask me to do.

All such good things to carry over..... I agree totally and for myself....I'd like to continue to become more frugal and pay down those debts. And even though its been a struggle...learn to love myself more the way I am. Also remember to be thankful for what I have and realise how much less I need to be happy!

As I continue to ponder this, and to think of various members of FV, I have to give praise for how far we have come in '08. Many of our journeys have been rocky, but we emerged with strengths and skills that will serve us well in the new year. Thanks for sharing. And congratulations on all you have accomplished!

Actually, to be truthful, I don't want to carry anything over from this last year.

It has been a rough, mostly unproductive year.

This next year I want to be more frugal, do more cooking and baking, lose weight (can I do both of these??)

I am looking forward to the coming year, much more then last year.

I will continue to give thanks every day for the blessings in my life.

I want to continue to work hard here at home to equal how hard my hubby works at his job ( he amazes me with how hard he works for me).

I want to continue working out as much as I can this year for my health.

I want to continue letting people in to my life like I've done this past year( hard after losing both children and being abandoned by everyone you knew).

I want to continue posting here and learning from this place.( theres just so much to read!! LOL)

    1) Continue with the frugal ideas I have learned throughout the year. And continue to learn new frugal ways.

    2) Continue to count my blessings each day.

    3) Be greatful and in the moment with every person that comes into my life.

This is such a good thread....

    1. I want to remember to thank God each, and every day for the blessings he has given me.

    2. Learn to be more tolerant with DH when it comes to his disabilities, and show him how much I love him, and means to me.

    3. Keep in touch better with family, and friends. Let them know they are loved and appreciated.

    4. Continue learning more on how to be frugal, and keep practicing them.

    5. Bake and cook more from scratch.

    I'm sure there is more....

I think that what everyone else has said is terrific and could certainly apply to me. My addition would to continue to learn and have resolve to take more steps to eating healthy, more exercise and to continue to lose weight.
