A Question About Blogs...
One of my goals is to keep a recipe blog. I want to share recipes that my family loves, and ones that I've come across, tried, and declared them successes.
My question is.... when you read a blog like this, do you like just a picture of the finished product or a group of step-by-step pictures? I want the blog to be nice, and pleasant for viewing but don't want it to look too cluttered, you know?
Any hints/tips would be appreciated.

I read LOTS of food blogs and if there are too many pictures, I skip over the post unless it is a particularly tricky recipe or the recipe instructions leaves something to be desired. I've posted a couple on my blog that had step by step photos because I was afraid the instructions didn't make sense.

I read food blogs and I like the step-by-step if the recipe has a unique way to do things. Otherwise, I mainly prefer a "final product" pic. However, if it's important that something be a specific way, a pic is useful. Or, if you're demonstrating something. For instance, if your batter needs to be a specific consistency, show me a pic of it dripping/falling/whatever off of the spoon.

A picture of the finished product always entices people to try something they haven't had before. Here's what I would do:
Write down the meal name.
List all of the ingredients.
Write down the steps to make it and show pictures of how it looks as you're preparing it. For example, if you're making chicken parmesan, take a picture of the chicken breasts pre-preparation. Then take a picture of the three bowls that you'd dip the chicken in and a picture of each step. Finally, take a picture of the chicken in the pan before and after it is baked.
It's stuff like that that drives people wild!
Muahahah!
Ok in all seriousness, it's a great idea, Debbie.

Ok... I took your advice and made a few changes. Now just have to get readers to let me know what they think! *lol*
Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it.
