Grrr....
I had planned a nice dinner for tonight. Dinner was to be a roast, vegetables, and yorkshire pudding. This morning I put the roast and vegetables in the crockpot and turned it on.
About an hour ago, I started making the yorkshire pudding. I went to get the drippings/liquid out of the crockpot and reallized that the roast was cold. Sometime this afternoon the crockpot got turned off. The roast was only part cooked and the veggies were hard.
It was hours from being done in the crockpot and even on the stove it would take a couple of hours (the roast was very tough).
So it will be pizza from Papa Murphy's tonight (at least I had a coupon). My DH is going to get the pizza.
The roast will go in the fridge and I will try again tomorrow.
What makes me the most upset is that I had dinner planned and I did not want to go out tonight. My DH and I are trying really hard to not to eat out. I guess I could have cooked something else, but frustration got the most of me.Julie

I'm sorry that happened to you! At least you were able to use a coupon, you can still eat the roast tomorrow and it eased the frustration level a little bit with not having to worrying about cooking something else.

I hear you! My crockpot did that last weekend, but it was deader than a doornail & I had to get a new one. It also had a history of turning itself off during the day. This is my second crockpot in four months! Grrrrr........ They just don't make anything like they used to.

I would think that if someone didnt shut it off then its probably time for a new one. I would get one before it ruins another meal

Sorry your plans for dinner were changed. At least you won't have to figure out what to do tonight.

At least you kept the roast ~ I would have been so mad that I would have thrown it away. Sometimes stuff happens and we do the best we can.
