    Default I hate January!!!!

January seems to drag on every year. I am dieting and also trying to get out of debt. The weather is nasty. I am totally bored. No money and can't eat.....ugh! I am also anxious to get all my info for my tax return. I do it all myself and I'm always anxious to see how much we will get back. Helps me figure out what debt can be eliminated. Of course that stuff doesn't even get sent out until January 31st. We are in a holding pattern until then. Did I mention that I HATE January? Anyone else feel this way?

Sorry, I love January......it's nice and dark, nice and early. (I love being all snuggly and being able to "hunker down") I love that all the busyness of Christmas is over, and I am able to stay home, stay inside, and enjoy the time with my family playing games, working on puzzles, or just watching TV.........

I know, I'm weird, but I'm ok with it!!

I am lovin this January!!!We are going to close on our farm the 16th. It is the first month of a fresh new year, and I feel upbeat and positive about all the goals we have set for ourselves. It is cold, but I have a warm fire, a hot cuppa, and family and friends nearby. Cheer up. February will be here before you know it.

Lovestolaugh, are you a pessimist by any chance????

I am pretty indifferent to January, not much going on other than my son's birthday, which I always look forward too!

But I love the reasons that you hate January! It's a new start. Started my diet, feel very energized. No debt, so starting another new year debt free gives me a good feeling. And when I think tax return, I just get excited about how much my savings will grow!

Think "glass is half full" and maybe it'll help you get through the month!

I don't mind January so much. New Years, 12th day of Christmas, my birthday. But February! Ack! The shortest month takes the longest to be over.

I'm not a big fan of January either. The cold temps (combined with expensive electric heat) and this is generally the "slow time" in DH's line of work combines to make it a bit rough. I just plod on through the days - the month will eventually be over LOL.

LOL I hear ya people. But, it's Dec I hate. If it was up to me the calendar would go from Nov to Jan. I hate Dec. The holidays, the fact that my oldest died on the 13th in 2000, both the children are dead, parents are dead, can't find my brother ( no one knows how to contact him), hubby is a work-oholic. I hate Dec. I'm seriously thinking about volunteering to serve xmas dinner to people this year, instead of staying home feeling depressed and alone. I have no idea who to contact to do so, but I'll figure it out by then.

I don't hate anytime of the year....I guess I'm old enough now to appreciate the time I have.....I like the feeling of 'new beginnings', the time to reflect on last year and other years past.....I hope you'll find a bright spot to remember *this* January by and maybe next year it will be not quite so bad for you.

It's not so much just Jan. I dislike it's winter. The cold, snow, shorter days, etc. I hibernate more. Stay in more. Not because I don't want to go out and do something but because I dislike cold that much.

However, I am known to suffer from Seasonal Depression. Known as SAD. Every year. It's gotten better because I've learned what I need to feel at least ok and not depressed. Some days just really are blah. I have to admit that so far this winter has been going by quickly. We've had tons of stuff going on and a ton to do. (Moved, Holidays etc). I think it'll slow down now and I may have to reflect to stay away from my SAD stuff.

If you experience this every winter Maybe there's something going on with Seasonal mild depression with you too. If so, Try to get out and enjoy the sun as much as you can, really 10 minutes a day helps! It's the Vit. D that we get from the sun that helps us cope. If you're unable to get out and enjoy any sun, make sure to sit in some very bright light for at least 10 minutes a day. It helps me.

Create a tradition in Jan that you're excited for. Me, I help others as much as possible starting in Jan. this year I'm making blankets every month for children who are battling cancer and hosting a book drive sometime in Jan or Feb. That makes me feel good.

I hope Jan. get's better for you.

I guess I'm more like PrairieRose. Life is too short to say you hate anything, much less to arbitrarily pick an entire month out of the year and decide you'll be miserable for 30 days.

I use to feel that way when I was younger, but now, I'm loving every minute of every day, I watch the news and I'm grateful for everything I have, in November I went through uterine cancer surgery and now have a clean bill of health, my family and friends are well, we have food in the house, heat, how could I wish away one precious moment of my life?January or June, it's all good. I know, I know, sickening isn't it? But that's how I feel.

I don't like it much either, lovestolaugh. But I try to stay as busy as possible, and I tell myself that March is right around the corner and that it will be spring before I know it.
