Just goes to show that there are always unintended consequences when Government attempts to control the market. Stimulus...hah. Here, tell you what, I'll give you $1000. However, over the next 100 years, you, your children and your children's children get to repay that to us, with interest.

    Feel stimulated yet?
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I don't really see a problem with our stimulus spilling over to other countries if that's what the market dictates. This is not the stimulus plan of here's some money now be a good American and go buy something, this is stimulus through job creation and of course that job creation is going to be global, we live in a global economy.

As far as a policy that dictates "buy American" I agree that it creates a climate of isolation in the world market. I know many people think that because American cars are not popular elsewhere that we aren't exporting much but that is simply not true. Every time I've been overseas I have marveled at the American culture and product that spills over. I personally have spotted cosmetic and clothing lines, fast food restaurants, store chains, and more. It is not the time to close our doors to trade. The best way to ensure that people buy American is to create a product that is superior and competitively priced. That being said I do think standards for working conditions should be in place for trade. JMHO
