    Default Rough start to 2009

I'm trying to remain optomistic, but 2009 has gotten off to a hard start for us. My DH runs a paper route for added income since I am the primary income and we need to supplement. Well, he rolled his ankle on Sunday and is out of commission with torn ligaments. We won't know more till tomorrow when he goes to the Doc. Luckily that is covered. Unfortunately, his insurance only pays a minimal amount for a sub, so while he is out, we will lose at least half if not 3/4 of his income. I think we will be ok, it will entail some juggling and it WILL be tight, but I will make it work. But, as if that is not enough, our puppy tore past my poor hubby last night when he opened the door and took off! There was no way he could chase her...he is in a cast, I was not home and he could not leave our 2 boys! It was the worst night weather wise, and we scoured the neighborhood but had no luck. I am SO worried, and my 3 year old keeps asking if his Iris is coming back. Our big dog is lost and our kitten (her playmate) just sits at the door looking for her, and glaring at us!
I REALLY hope the rest of 2009 is better than this!

Sorry that things are not looking good right now.
On the puppy front, put up some flyers in the neighborhood. We did that and got out dog back the next day. He was a full blooded black german shepard. worth a lot of money, but someone called us and let us know where he was at. we went and got him. Hopefully you can do the same!

I did the fliers at work today, for free, so they can be put up tonite. I've also put a free ad on petfinder, our cheapcycle, our freecycle and our sales office is on the lookout. So far, nobody has seen her. I'm worried becayse their are heavy woods she could have gotten into that arent really accessable to humans.

I know when my dh had a paper route, it didn't really matter who did it. Could you take over the route for awhile so that you can still get paid. Also, is there any way you can do it from the car? Sorry about your puppy. I hope your week gets better quickly.

Sorry to hear about such a rough start to 2009 and DH's ankle. Hopefully he'll be back on his feet soon. I hope someone spots your pup or it comes home on its own soon.

Is there any way you guys can go out to do the route together? You can drive and he can give the directions? And here's hoping the puppy finds his way back home......
